Default Ressurecting an old school board

I want to take up skateboarding, mostly as a means of fun transportation to school and such, and being kind of low on cash I remembered my brother used to skate waay back when he was a little kid, so I went down and looked for it in the basement. Found it! It's probably somewhere around 20 years old and reaally ugly(my opinion), and I think I probably need to do some sort of makeover if I'm ever gonna be seen using it...
It'd be great if someone could tell me anything about the quality of the board, and maybe manufacturer or something. I suspect it's just a cheapo board, but you never know. Also there's an extra pair of trucks, are either of the pairs of trucks any good or just basic stuff? I'm also thinking about changing the boards outline and graphic to something better looking/more modern. Any help on that would be great. I'm looking forward to you guys input. =)

Some more pics. =) Look like the board is made up of 7 layers of plywood. 12 mm thick. Also, is there anyway I could guess/measure/approximate the durometer of the wheels, just to compare with others...? Thanks.

well based on the age and the board itself im guessing those wheels are pretty hard... like in the 90's.
if your using it for cruising i'd prolly get wheels under 65mm with 75-81a duro. tunnel rocks are one that i can think of right now.

Just a cheep mall board. It's not worth much. But some of them are worth something. The logo is good in the front! I would say it came from toy's R us, back in the day?

Yeah, it didn't seem very expensive. =) At least then I don't have to feel bad about modifying it...

The wheels that are on it now, the yellowish ones, feel pretty soft. I don't have anything to compare it to though, other than the green wheels which are slightly harder. Is there no way to like test it or compare it to something?

So if I want to slightly change the shape of the board to make it seem more modern, what should I reshape? I was thinking maybe making the "waist" of the board extend a little longer toward the front and maybe reducing the size/width of the nose a little. Any suggestions on that?
