Need some OS help

[Hot Wheels]

I have a question about the rivets that hold the OS rails on the
80's boards. I am restoring a Hawk board, and the rivets are rusted
out and I need to replace them as I am adding new grip tape.

Are these rivets replaceable in todays market?

What are they called?

Do shops have them?


Enemy Combatant, MSK, sk8norcal, Grifin , or Wells or anyone
else know?

I forgot what you would call them in a hardware store, but back in the day they were called sex bolts or T-nuts.

It will help to see the board to asses the problem. Are you thinking T bolts or sex bolts on this? They are the same but the size can vary?? Need pic's??

they may have been powell rat nuts, if they have hex shaped heads then thats what they are. i had to drill mine out to get the rails off of a few of my boards. you can try this stuff called PB B'laster, it may break em free. if you can find rib bones, they come with rat nuts. i used to use em to mount trucks, until i found bridge bolts. i still have my bridge bolts, they rule.

You can find "rat nuts" at Ace Hardware. They call them something else but it's the same part.
