so i just dug up my dad's old g&s boars from probably 35 yrs ago, after they spent the past 20 or more yrs in an old barn.they are nice boards, with old Bennett-pro trucks on the bottom (my last name is bennett, and i thought that was sweet). i want to fix them up, and to do that i think i need new base plates all around (they're cracked in half from the elements) and new bushings. will it be easy to replace these pieces, or should i just look for a new set of trucks? i'd really like to ride with the same equipment (true vintage is way cooler than anything that only looks old. i'll try to get some pictures of these old boards posted.

Bennett baseplates would crack if you looked at them wrong... I'm not sure if the new Bennett plates will fit the original trucks, but if you really want to keep it vintage, look on ebay for vintage ACS or California Slalom baseplates. Those are what most of us used after we got tired of constantly replacing the Bennetts. Many of the old Bennetts you see on ebay have ACS plates...

this is the thread where someone might notice, and have the parts. its purpose is to restore old into new using original parts.

cools. thanks for the advice guys. i tore apart and cleaned all the pieces of one of them, and i have a replacement set of new wheels and wider bennett-vector trucks (the current ones are only 6", so i ordered 7.75"s) in the mail. and i dont have a camera, seabass101dg, but as soon as i can get a hold of one, i'll get those pics up.
