History:
The Giro Aerohead C.1988

Proracers looked with disdain at helmets and tribars until Greg LeMond used both to beat Laurent Fignon by eight seconds in the final stage of the 1988 Tour de France. It took until 2003 for the pro peleton to wear helmets during stages but they started appearing in time trails soon after LeMond’s win.
