Re: calling all dogtown skateboard riders!
That locker board is set up with 97a Rat Bones..not the most street friendly unless that is your style.
I would prefer something else as a commuter.

No, I didn't say that at all. Dogtown is a great company with a storied career.
That particular setup (components) is not the best for commuting.

Re: calling all dogtown skateboard riders!
yeah, the wood has held up pretty well for me over the years.. just cruisin and doin some street, mainly.
i agree.. 97a is pretty hard for a commuter. go with 78-88a

Re: calling all dogtown skateboard riders!
Ask Mike at SoCal to substitute some 78a or 82a Tunnel Rocks for those too hard Powell Peralta wheels & you'll be all set!
The Dogtown deck is a quality product. It will serve you well.

Would these decks work for a commuter or would the 37'' be the one?

Re: calling all dogtown skateboard riders!
Like comparing apples, oranges & bananas! The first deck you asked about is 24". Now you list a 30", 33" & 37" decks. You could commute on any of them. What's more comfotable to you? How do you want the board to handle? Will where you store it be an issue with the various lengths? We can't answer these questions for you. You need to do some homework!

Re: calling all dogtown skateboard riders!
A friend of mine had one of Humpston's hand-made solid wood decks, complete with custom hand drawn graphics. This was several months before DT existed as a "real" company. It was about 10" wide, at a time when you couldn't buy anything wider than about 8.5". It didn't last too long, since Muir and Humpston were trying to make their boards as light as possible, and the deck was only about 3/8" thick. My friend was only about 120lbs, and that board still flexed quite a bit...
