Shaping Guard rails

I want to mount guard rails on my re-issue cabellero, and i want to know how to soften them and shape them to the boards shape. Ive heard of boiling them or microwaving them. any body have any ideas?

Microwaving = no muy bueno. I've never tried it, but microwaving is just bad news bears all around. Common sense tells me that I'd boil it if I were you, but maybe someone who's actually done it could give you some more solid advice

I used a hairdryer for the rails on my Hosoi Hammerhead, but i only had to do some slight bends.

they just don't taste the same after they've been microwaved... hot water works, you can set them on the radiator for a few or as ricks suggested use a hairdryer.

what kind of rails are they? Vision, krooks, and powell thin ribs will all bend enough if you just big boy up with your hands and bend them in with your thumbs as you install them. Just installed some powell thin ribs on my son's cab he got for christmas 3 weeks ago.

ive got the blue cab with the gold dragon on the bottom, its got a little more of a dramatic curve. theyre vision rails and i just ended up putting them in the oven on 170 degrees for like 5 mins. worked out great!

Yeah, the vision rails do take a little bit more out of your thumbs but they'll go too! Just did two different five points decks with more curve using vision.
