Re: Pics of you riding your oldschool wide boards
Imma give this thread an ol' bumperoonie. I would like to start oldcshool skating any suggestions?
I plan on using my old 129mm Independent trucks,
1/2" soft old risers
Possibly some OJ wheels, take a look at the links.
OJ Wheels: Wheels: 55mm Hot Juice Hot Juice Mini 78a Wheels
Wheels
-------------
OJ Wheels: Wheels: 75mm Thunder Juice 78a Wheels
Also I plan on buying a Bamboosk8 deck
Blank Pool Deck - Bamboosk8
I know I could get like a Santa cruz or a Powell but i'd like to stick with my bamboo theme i've kept going over the past 3yrs.
I used to have a oldschool board that was donated by my kind neighbors. It was a reissue that's from the 90-2000's so it wasn't the real thing you know. It had cheap 2-3" trucks that sent me flying after carving on them because I cracked the pivot point, The old wheels I pitched because I rode them till they were shot. And the board eventually died on me, so all I left with is memories and riser pads.
I would like to start again any tips?
Additional details: I am a parkboarder and I ride my boards on anything from miniramps to pools to rails/boxes.
I like big wheels: push less, roll more.

If you're going to be riding parks, those wheels are both too soft. You should be looking for at least 95a's. Also, one set is too small & the other is too large. Stick with something 58mm to 63mm for best results.
Indy 129's are going to be too narrow for that 10" wide deck, unless you go with a wide offset wheel. You also won't need anymore than 1/4" of riser, at the most.

Hmmmm...
I'm going to haft to think about that, I planned on getting 149mm Indys or Thunders for my 8.25" parkboard anyways. Would that work? Or would I haft to get 169mm indys?

Re: Pics of you riding your oldschool wide boards
Depends on your wheel choice, but probably 169's.

Re: Pics of you riding your oldschool wide boards
Or else, get my 149's and some OJ's. And I could switch out my wheels according to the type of terrain? It would take me a little while to get new trucks, board, bearings and wheels. well I will save my oldschool ideas for later in life and just get some new trucks soon, possibly wheels? also.
