Re: How About This Old School Setup
I'd try Indys and the Vision Blurr reissues, if I were trying to make an 80's cruiser-ish setup.
Or, if you're dead set on the OJ's and Bennetts, I'd check out maybe a Z-Flex cruiser, a G&S Fiberflex reissue, or some other kind of 70's-ish deck...I know Skullskates makes a few, and I think Skatepark of Tampa has something similar.
But, I'm kind of a period-correct nerd. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the setup you posted, it just doesn't jive in a completely chronological way.
yes, an uber-grippy, square-lipped slalom wheel IS the best for sliding

G&S was on my list and iv been looking at some of the z-flex boards also I think Ill reconsider my choice to the G&S 26'' fiberflex board.

Re: How About This Old School Setup
I'm completely with bucksaw as to the period correctness. But that's just me. Anything goes. Also, the more important question is where are you going to use your setup. Transition, street, just cruising, bombing, ...? I would make that clear first and go from there.
