Default Independent Trucks Need Some 21st Century Love

My old Alva skate has Independent Trucks on it that are now over 30 years old. I’ve been skating it that long and it's about time to replace the bushings .

I’m not sure what model/generation the trucks are as when I bought them Indies were a new company, so I could use some help identifying them. They hanger measures approximately 4-3/4” between the wheels.

I’ve not swapped the hanger bushings out so they are original (unless I swapped them out for harder or softer ones back in the day…which is now lost to memory). Under the patina they are a blue-blue/greenish color.

What options are there for replacement bushings that will fit? Does Indy still make them?
Are aftermarket replacements any better performing?

The pivot bushing is white and I might as well replace that also. Any suggestions?

    Please see pics below.

    Thanks a bunch!

Not sure about the model, but I know those bushings are DEEEEESSSSTRRROOOOYEEED. Bones hardcore bushings are made for indies, and venom eliminator bushings (the old version) fit amazingly. The new venom eliminators are too big now. I think you could probably run double venom cones, or a barrel and cone. But dont quote me. I'm not sure what all bushings are compatible with indies

Any bushings will work. Sand them down if they are too tall. Is that a cupped washer embedded in the roadside bushing?

measure it from axle to axle. and get some bones hardcores or indy bushings, both should work.

i LOOOOVE blue bones hardcores in indys.

some guys say the blues are too soft and blow out, but ive had the same pair on my ditch board for like 5 years, and im usually around 2/210lbs.

How wide is the hanger? That's more important.

    Those are probably 109's.

Yep, the bushings is smooshed but they ain't yet jelly.
I'm not one to be spoiled by a responsive truck.

Hangers look like stage 1 Indys but the base plates definitely aren't.

I think these are the freestyle trucks that Indy reissue around when stage 5 were coming out.

Stage 1 Indys as well as the reissues ran double barrels about the same size as what is out there today.

109s are 101s. Called 109s in stage one, the style was still available with the same hangers up to stage 5. Judging by the baseplates that's what these are, stage 5 101 freestyle/slalom trucks.

They can't be from 1986 unless future time travel was involved.

121 stage 1 indys maybe then. 1978-79 sound right? I thought stage 1 kingpins were cast into the baseplate.

Sell em - buy a new complete.
