I would just leave it alone!! 1970's clear plastic Nash that has all the original stickers on them are worth more. There are a lot of these boards out there but not with all the stickers on them. It looks brand new witch is good with all the collectors that want them. I have one but not with stickers, just old man victor's grip tape feet on it. This one is a keeper and leave it the way you found it and keep it out of the sun. Good find!!

i have this board my neighbor gave me...
i tried to restore it, which didnt go so well...
one of the wheels was stuck on the axle, but the other one was free... when i went t getsome WD-40, my uncle tried to free it by putting the freed end into a gator grip bit for a wratchet...
it got stuck and when we finally managed to get it off, the axle was stripped.
so now i'm trying to restore it, but i have a stripped axle. plus i lost like 2 beads for the loose bearings.
i'vebeen contemplating just upgrading the components to modern components, but i just dont think its worth it... what do you guys think?
    and hereare some pics...

the stripped and now rusted axle:

EDIT: my pixs just dont seem to be working... but they can be seen on my flikr album...http://www.flickr.com/photos/2808041...7622777635773/

You should be able to clean up those threads enough to be usable again with a die, and the balls should be available at any bike shop...

Yeah, the nash hasnt even gotten here and I'm debating about whether it will stay or not. Now I'm thinking changing it is a bad idea. Also, Im heavier, and although im working on lising weight ultimately an already lighter rider might really want it. I really want an original derringer or manhattan or a custom 35, but this nash wont bring me the money for that. We'll see once it gets here what I feel like doing. I really liked it when I saw it, but it was also a bit of an impulse buy...

Dont want to double post but...I think I may have gotten ripped on the Nash. I bought it on ebay, seller said they shipped it but its been 2 weeks and it hasnt gotten here. The seller wont return my messages either. I'll give it a couple more days and then im going to paypal to get my money back. Even if I do get the board I will probably sell/trade it. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

Well, the nash finally arived! But, I'm not sure if I am gonna keep it. Its a sweet little board. It has 100% original components. Even the old bearings, the bushings still are soft and the stickers are all there. But I am too heavy for it, and I know someone else will appreciate it more than me. Also the board is really narrow and with my already bad balance and big feet I dont think Im suited for it. I will say this was somehwat of an impulse buy....bad me, lol. I'm wondering if I will keep it as a decoration or sell it. If someone makes me an offer/trade I will probably let it go.

Here is a board I just got off of Craigslist Lubbock for $10. It was just sitting in this guys garage and it is just pristine. Don't mind the pictures of the wheels, they're a lot better than they look. The only think that's falling apart though is what the arrow is pointed to that I guess(?) I need to replace. I'm just now getting in to this scene but I'm loving it already, this board is a ton of fun to play around with! Also apparently these 651 trucks were extremely nice back in the day.

Ya the guy had it when it came out and used it for school but it was sitting in his attic so he put it on craigslist. There's also a yellow Variflex board for cheap too but does it have any worth?

Trust me, it's worth at least 8 dollars. I would go for it.
