i've been a member here for awhile but don't post that much, i do longboard and enjoy coming here for advice and info. turned 45 this past year, skated in the 70's and in 2000 started collecting 70's era (75-78, pre-pig) skateboards and everything related to them. figured i would post a few pics of my collection for you guys to check out, everything is pretty much NOS, most of the completes i assembled myself over the years...

    OSR:

Wow. I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a hambuger today. Or more germaine to the point, an hour on memory lane in your museum. I can't tell you how much I wanted one of those Krypto foam pool decks when I was in college. Problem was that I was in college and money was tight.

So are you skating? If not, you should certainly start again. I was about your age when I took it back up. I've got that yellow Turner cutaway's twin in red. Course mine is a bit more abused. And Mr. Ogre above me here has quite the collection of Bobby's best as well.

Come round here more often, hear??!?

Strokers in the bag??? That is enough to drive a grown man to weep.
Skate 'em if you got 'em,

    Francois

Does anybody know anything about 62.5CSI Or 63.5csi krypto wheels? Beveled on both sides? I don't know what csi stands for. Or if t says 62.5 or 63.5. But they're pretty hard and an off red color now. May have just turned red/brown over time..

I was talking to Michael Brooke a few years ago about The Original Cosmic Riders
of La Jolla and how I grew up with them. I was asking him about a story in the fall 2001
pages 30 - 31 in International Longboarder Magazine. I remember that someone said that the story was not right and that it did not hold as being true. Michael Draper and The Original Cosmic Riders of La Jolla did exist. Most of the story is true from what I saw. They where a bunch of beach grom's having fun and getting in a lot of trouble for having a good time back in the day. There is more to the story and I am looking in to it. The board is 1 out of a 100 production boards made for The Original Cosmic Riders of La Jolla. In the story the board is in a picture on the bottom right of the page. The longboard I have is the same hardware and trucks and wheels as the board in the picture. I will be showing the board at a show. The show is called On Board Art & Life Style Show on January 9th at 3811 Ray St in North Park in San Diego. Come out and see it for yourself and all the other old school boards that I will be showing from the 50's to today.

thanks for the kind words fellas. and i do still skate (someone asked above) mainly longboards on local hills (nothing that big) and parking garages. i can ride some roundwall but not that good at it, and at my age too skiddish to do much concrete park skating anyway...

and hey there Thane, met you at this year's skater trader in SD, hopefully you remember (bald guy that was talking to Mike Foley a lot). Anyway, really enjoyed being out there at that event, was hoping there would be a few other collectors there also but was still great fun. Got to go to skatelab also, that alone was worth my plane ticket
