I took this to the last Harbor 100 cone race, and during practice, I set a short (20 cone) course at 3' centers, and was able to run it clean. Took a few runs on the 100 cone course, and I was double pumping every cone...
That Skate Key has gone to hell and back but still works. I would like to see you ride that fiber board on a 100 cone run I bet it was a sit to see. double pumping that little monster!! Thanks for the pic's{ keep them coming} people its the only way that we are going to make this ketch on. Use old guy's need to show off our {Quiver} Too the younger people. It's showing the History off skateboards in the making and how far it's gone!!!

Hi there!
I need some help. I got an old skateboard back from my sister and I suspect that it is my very first "proper" board from the 70´s, a ValSurf Oak wedge. Could it be? ACS 430 and Python 2 ( I don´t remember that stuff but the board feels like an old friend).
Holy smokes, that looks old. It also looks a lot like the Val Surf oaken boards, but who can tell after all the fun that board has obviously been a part of? Did you get that via international mail order, or were you in the Valley as a kid?

Naaa.....I´m from Sweden and when I was a kid there was no skateboards ( well, no good ones anyway ) to buy, so we send for them after reading the ads in Skateboarder Mag.

Nice Looks like you need a little help with that oldie. Missing the two OG wheels? You can clean it using Murphy Oil soap just follow the instructions on the back for the wood start with a Hot cloth towel and dab the board first then use the soap and water salutation to clean and dry. Too clean the wheels and trucks and bearings use Simple green. If you want to really clean the bearings soak in DN Alcohol for a while and let sit on a cloth towel to leech out the oils. might need to do this more than once to get them real clean. Then clean the bearings with the simple green on the covers and give a good amount of lube on the bearings Try Flo is good. What are the wheels on it, The red ones? IT should clean up nicely. Good luck on it
Thanks

These are now available. I found them and these are the last of the orignal 1978 long skate keys. heard to find but I did it. Most of you that grew up in the 70's know this skate key as the original skateboard tool and it still is. I have had mine since 1980 and I still use it all the time.
Thanks

[Apologies for the shitty cameraphone pics - I am at work currently...]
Recently unearthed from a neighbor's basement:
An orange Grentec GT with GT trucks and wheels, also orange.
I haven't explored the bearings yet, but from the few scoots I've had around on it, they could certainly use some lubing/replacment.

Thane, I think this is a great idea, and I hope it turns into full

man just photos alone of your collection would be a feast

Here is some old school and new school work of Bobby Turner. Turner and Ick Sticks are some of the greatest skates from the old school era. Bobby and Rick were way ahead of the game. I am a Turner Junkie no doubt.
I feel like I post this picture way too much. I just can't help myself

Bruce Logan, It was drilled and unridden till I got it. Mid tracks and pink c 62's
Turner Summer Ski. Indy's, wood risers, 70mm krypto's, and absolutely no pivot cups.

Re: Vintage Old School page 50's and up
In 1986 my friend built this deck in La Jolla High School. Johnie could surf 10.0 long boards and he was only 5.5 feet tall. I was a freshman and John was a senior. I got the board from a neighbor a few years later. My friend crashed this deck into a pole and cracked the fiber glass. I stripped it a few years and want to add the fiber back on soon. OG old school.
Thanks
