Hey guys,
Just bought my first longboard.....I have to be honest here, I love it as if it were my first born child. I'm even thinking about giving it a name (any suggestions?hahah)
Just wanted to know about the scene in Ottawa...any people out there who know where the best places to go are...i was surprised that there wasn't much of a supply of longboards so I just picked one up at the local "Top of the World" store. Yeah I love it.
So write me Ottawa or no Ottawa, I love talking to people!
Hey buddy
I picked up a 8.25 x 38.0 "Burst" from the Sector 9 Bamboo series.
I like it a lot. It's a LOT a fun!
I've been riding for a week...you think I'll hold you back?

How long have you been riding?
No problemo, though you missed a good day. Weather was just about perfect. Lots of bikers and bladers out, which made timing some of the downhills dicey.
I only got back into skating this past spring. I wanted to do something to keep up my snowboarding muscle memory.

TOTALLY. I got my board in March and my pushing ankle killed me, so much so that I actually bought a Tensor brace (which I never used). Then in April I got a pair of Vans high tops and the pain disappeared.
Because of A) the size of the wheels B) the risers and C) the thickness of the deck, the distance from deck top to ground is huge. I find without the support of the high-tops (cause I've forgotten and gone out with low tops a few times) my ankle "flops" which f's up the tendons or whatever in front.
If you push at an angle, all kinds of nasty shiznit can happen from the ankle up. If I get sloppy I can feel it right up to my thigh. I aim to push with my pushing leg 100% parrallel to the board.
Hey I started longboarding a couple months ago too and I'm in Ottawa.
I'm always on the lookout for sweet hills. If anyones in the east end of town let me know
What's up, I live in Hull but I'm right beside the bridge... if anyone is up for bombing hills and pulling snaps or just doing any crazy tricks with their boards, count me in!!!
What part of town are you from Caro? Check out sandy hills for some good carving action...
Im in ottawa and have been longboarding for about 6 years and skating since I was 8 years old. I ride a pro40 flexdeck with rII 180's and 69mm Manx 78a wheelies. I live in Sandy Hill and love to hit the hills so gimme a holler next time theres a meetup and I'm diggity down.
