Trail BC and Highways

Hello

I'm new here, im building confidence with longboarding. So far i have been able to ride most of the little hills downtown and am thinking about stepping it up and riding the higway from rossland to trail. does anyone here have any advice on this hill. are there any other hills

I'm also wondering what are the precautions you should take before riding on a highway.

How safe is it? Can it be safe at all?
Is there a minimum speed you should be going to keep up with trafic.
What times are the best.
Has anyone here tried this hill before?, where do you pick up the most speed?

Anyways if you are a longboarder in this area i would greatly appreaciate getting in touch with you. So far im the only one i have seen in trail with a dh. If there are others out there, give me a holler.

I live nowhere near you but if you're going to bomb a highway your going to want someone you know drive behind you so you won't get run over. Try to start the hill on the shoulder and only cut over onto the road when you have to (I don't know the road so there might not even be a shoulder). 5:30am is always a good time to bomb high traffic areas. Maybe 5am if it's light enough.
