Well, you got another brother up here in North Pole... 22 and just started a year ago... so in alaska time that was about 5 months of skating. Not the greatest place for boarding, not too many clean roads or hills, unless I go up to the college. I go to Anchorage on a regular basis, though.

Well there's definitely a couple longboarders here in the Juneau area: look up eaglecrest on youtube. Myself, I'm still working on finishing my first board (I have a thorough background in snowboarding).

Just went up to Seward for a couple of days... Once the road clears up about 10 miles out of town, that hill could be THE spot for downhilling.

Hmm, haven't been down there since the Summer before last, but I think I know where your talking about.. definately could be a nice spot.. Hmm.

It would have to be sometime in May or September.. In between there's probably too much traffic from all them terrorists.

The main drop into seward is 6.7m on a 2% grade overall, but there's a lot of up and down. Is this the are your talking about?

Ah cool.
I was in the 5th ave. garage the other day, really rough pavement in there, and fairly wet.
I should check out some of the others sometime, would be nice to have a place to hit up in the winter.

here is the prov parking garage(newest one by the providence house) as of the 8th, since its less than a year old the pavement is smooth and really fast.

also JC pennys garage is supposed to get alot of work done to it this summer

Ah cool, yeah JC penney garage could really use some work - that would be a nice one to skate if it got some work.

I live in Seward during the summer. That hill is definitely wicked and a local guy I know has longboarded and luged it in the past. Good riding near town also, but watch out for the cops. I`ve bombed the hill at MP 52 near Summit Lake in Sept, in the evening hours. Get in touch with me when summer comes if you guys wanna check out the local hills.

Btw, I`ve been skating since `75, in Alaska since `77. My friends were skating the Penneys garage back then.
