Re: WEST COAST RIDERS! : OCT 7-9 : Skate the final 150km across Canada with us!
I was hoping to blast north and ride at least for a day of this, but turns out I'll be at a wake on Sunday the 8th.
My niece and longtime childhood playmate Trudy Ingraham (we were only a few years apart in age) died two days ago, in her early 30's, of what started as breast cancer and spread everywhere else. She was a brilliant, strong-willed young woman. I didn't even know the end was this near. I was racing slalom in Salem the same day. Things sneak up and just nail you sometimes.
Its incredible to see the awareness, participation, and most of all, pledges you've generated, skating across the country. I'll also be skating some trail down in Vancouver WA this weekend, hundreds of miles away, alongside you all.
Thank you for doing this epic ride. Skate safe.

PAVEDWAVE: I'm very sorry to hear about your neice. Breast cancer has no mercy on many of its victims and is something many people will have to deal with directly or indirectly over the course of their lives.
If you can make it to any of these concert dates the following week it would be my honour to meet you.
Take care,
B
