Calgary Slalom

OK... Trying to get the slalom scene in Calgary going well. Edmonton is growing, it would be nice to get an Alberta circuit up.

Here's where we can post about sessions, outlaws, or whatever. It's winter right now...so I'm sure we won't be active yet. But I'm wondering: Anyone have a line on parkades like U of C Arts or others?? What would it be like for slalom?? Some winter training would be nice. I know you bombers out there hit it from time to time.... What do you think?

Oh I know Slob well.... He is one of 3 in our core group. We are trying to expand our group larger, trying to get young guys into it as well. So yeah, if you want to try it, post up! We'll get things going in the spring.

Hoping to do a few this summer at conehenge, as well as in my town just east of Calgary.... Problem is our crew is so small. Hopefully you can bring some othah suckahs with you if you come! Conehenge is a fun ass hill for both GS and Hella-fast Hybrid!

Rad Groovebox! Young'uns is where it's at!!! My son is 12 as well and interested in slalom. I see a jr. team in the works! Drop me a pm and we can get something going. We've started training early with this nice weather we've been having.

There is a very slight one in front of the boneyard. Alas I must commute for real hills! CONEHENGE=40 minutes my driveway to the first cone!

Update: Regular Sunday sessions will be starting at the end of April. Nose Creek Park (gated access road next to Beddington Trail at Deerfoot Trail) AKA CONEHENGE. If yer on Facebook, Kash started a group called: Slalom Ska8boarders of Alberta. Look it up and feel free to join!

Rookie slalom Jam tomorrow (Thursday) night at Conehenge. You young guys that chimed in earlier wanting to try slalom c'mon out. There will be some boards available for people to tryDeerfoot and Beddington Trail (NE). 7:30 pm. (weather permitting)
