Help in Vancouver
Hello, oddish question-my partner is on her way to Vancouver at the end of the month. We are both working in Manila where there are no longboard or skateboard shops...at all! I need new wheels and trucks, she needs a new deck. Any chance someone could recommend some good local shops in Vancouver for her to check out whilst there! It be really helpful and I'd appreciate it as my gumballs are on their last legs. Cheers!

Re: Help in Vancouver
With LBC gone, the shop I recommend most often is PD's Hot Shop. Link
There's a bunch of other random places too. Occasionally I shop at one on Granville that is 3/4 paraphernalia and 1/4 longboarding. They used to have some Loaded boards with the trucks mounted backwards too... The guy gives me okay deals sometimes though and that's when I buy there.
Otherwise? Going straight to Landyachtz always works...

Re: Help in Vancouver

Re: Help in Vancouver
... Loaded shop? No clue what you're referring to. Towards the end of their being open, they did pick up a bunch of Loaded decks, but honestly... I more associated LBC with DH than anything else.
I'm not personally a big fan of Underworld, by the way. I'd bug Landy direct for trucks/wheels before I bothered with Underworld... or Pacific Boarder, Westbeach, and the Boardroom.

Er....Surrey England? Or is there a Surrey Canada? Apologies for my ignorance! Yeah...I should do I guess...I think I've got Franco's number. So are you based in Canada, or Manila? If Manila...where do you skate?

Re: Help in Vancouver
malcolm a.k.a. worldwide hit it right on the head, those are the only places i know (or know of for that matter)
pacific boardsports on west 4th and burrard has an ok selection. im not sure about the boardroom (but the boardroom in north van has an alright selection) my swedish roommate right now is looking for a nice longboard so im in the same boat.. im probably going to take her to Skull skates on West 4th and Macdonald.

Re: Help in Vancouver
for a really nice setup skull skates has the best selection of everything, especially if you want something other than landy or sector9. they sell some cool stuff thats harder to find like comets and motion boards, as well as a huge selection of park boards long and short.
in surrey you could check out paul's boutique i think its in or near guilford.. also close by is stiffy's boardshop in coquitlam, and replay in abbotsford. these shops carry some good longboard gear.

I don't have anything against S9, but they have a monoply here and I think something different would be good. I'll check out these ones too...I've no idea where any of these roads/places are! I better find a map!
Thanks for your help worldwide!
