the riding in homer seemed to be ok, but the cops down there do not like our kind at all, was walking up one of the roads with my board in hand, the cop told me that if he were to see me riding, my board would be gone and that i would be getting an escort of out town. that was my only experience down in homer.
oh and if any of you juneau guys see someone riding a sector 9 with a golfcorse image on the bottom let me know, mine was jacked out of my truck along with my downhill bike

Hey everyone. I live here in Juneau and am trying to decide on my first board any recomondations? I have some money saved up and was thinking about getting one of the following:
-Landyachtz evo complete w/97mm Abec11 Flywheels
-Landyachtz Battle Axe complete w/Big Zig wheels
-Fibreflex 44" Pintail complete w/Randal R2150's, Kryptonic Classics 70mm 80A, Abec 5 bearings, 1/2" risers
Which one of these would you recomend or is there something else entirerly I should get. I really want a smooth, almost effortless ride, for travel and occassional runs down mild hills. I was thinking about getting the evo because it seems fairly stable and supports larger wheels for going over rough pavement.
I posted earlier about stopping through sitka but now i found out i have a 4 hour layover in juneau so if any one wants to skate i am gunna bring my board. PM me if you want to and ill give you the dates.

What works well in Juneau?
FOr here in Juneau, most of the roads are decent, unless you plan to go "out the road", in which case wherever you go is going to be a little rough. Right now I'm using Bigzigs, and they've taken me over whatever I can find in Juneau. The Battleaxe seems like it would be a good choice for what you want to do. The Evo sounds like overkill (and it's expensive) unless you get the downhill bug, in which case you won't regret it. By downhill, I mean when you start to head towards racing speeds. The battleaxe should be good for pushing because of the dropthrough, which will also make it more stable at speed. The Evo will be able to accept bigger wheels, but remember that it's built primarily for racing; it's going to be heavier because of the number of plies used. I don't know about the fibreflex, I haven't heard too much about them. Good Luck, I hope that helped!
Thank you. Also, sorry to highjack the thread, but do you have any oppinions on the Landyachtz Urban Assault? If your not familiar with it here's some info.

Wow, sorry for disappearing forever! My one and only board right now is the lightning bug, which is super stiff, and I would have to say that, unless you really want to go fast, a little bit of flex is ok. From reading the forums, the urban assault might be an iffy board; the company is known for their speedboards, but not for this. I could be wrong, though. You've probably already resolved your question, but if not, then just try to pick a board that does a little of everything. If you want to go into a specific discipline (downhill, cruising, etc) then search the forums. Good luck!
