I doubt there will be many of us, but if there are, post up here.
I'm in Regina for the summer and would love to do some riding with other people. Any kind. I even know some decent DH spots!
I am in Saskatoon and about to buy my first longboard tomorrow, I came across this site searching on the web what to look for and am a little over whelmed about everything, I use to skateboard when I was in high school but it was alot easyer back then, you just bought the board that had the coolest graphic, We don't have much to choose from here in saskatoon, I think clothes cafe carrys, maybe 10 boards in totaly and the guy doesn't know anything about them, but I Think have a good idea of what I'm after, is there any good shops in regina I should come down and check out maybe?

A couple of Edmonton shops you may want to talk to are the boys at Local 124 in Edmonton longboards edmonton skateboard store local124 or Jordan (username is stuff on the 'Fish) Pipeline Surf, they can give you great advice and would be able to ship the board to you...better yet make a little trip to Edmonton to pick it up and have some of the locals take you bombing here

Hopefully this isn't too late, but if you're in Saskatoon you should definitely check out Escape sports. It's a bit of a hippie store, but they have the most experience with longboards in SK and they may not have the biggest selection but they'll definitely have the best stuff. They're great guys to boot.
Tiki Room in Regina has some decent stuff (Landyachtz) but it's definitely not worth the drive. I think Ninetimes in Saskatoon also carries some longboarding stuff. If you can't find what you want there, Pipeline Surf has free shipping.
Pretty sparse. Everyone knows Saskatchewan is flat, but it's got lots of rivers and rivers mean valleys and valleys mean hills. I've checked out a bunch of hills in the Qu'Appelle valley (southern SK) and there are some seriously fun hills. I've hit speeds over 75 km/h and I'm not a particularly fast rider. A talented DH rider could get much faster on these hills, I'm sure. Also, wind is a pretty big factor since we get so many strong winds blowing through. On certain runs I've hit 65-70 km/h while standing up and wobbling the whole way down and then maxed out at 50 km/h the next day while tucking as hard as I could. That may be exaggerated slightly, but not much.
Regina (where I'm from) is pretty crappy. No hills whatsoever but one decent garage. Saskatoon has a river running right through it, so there's much more fun to be had there.
Hey! I'm in Regina too, I am fairly new to longboarding. I'd be pretty pumped to meet up with some people and go out for a cruise. I am also going to Saskatoon in about two weeks and I wouldn't mind some tips on good spots, so if you know of anything, let me know.
I'm from Saskatoon also. Anyone looking for hills check out around the broadway bridge, decent spots there for sliders and (some) speed... I really wish we had bigger hills though. If anyone knows of one message me.
Also someone looking for a longboard in Saskatoon should check out Doug's Spoke and Sport, Ninetimes, or Escape.
Yes, that's lovely, thank you for bringing that spam to my attention
Anybody from Saskabush know if Undergrind is still around? I remember them having a decent selection of skate decks, but I don't know if they ever carried longboards. Might be worth checking out! They were just off of 22nd by the army surplus store if I remember correctly...haven't been back to the praries in like five years
If Dunas is still open, they'd be another shop to check out in Saskatoon. They were on the same block as Clothes Cafe (I think) but on the street behind it off of 8th.
Best of luck to all you flatlanders, it ain't easy out there!

I'm from Saskatoon. The best hill I know of is Ravine Drive. The only bad part about it is the turn at the bottom, which I wouldn't imagine you'd want to take too fast, but I think it's okay. With the right wind conditions, it's a fairly fast hill, and lots of fun with a few freinds!
Also: I'm not sure, but I think I went to undergrind yesterday to get griptape for the pool rider I'm building. (I don't pay much attention to these things :P) It was somewhere downtown... I remember them being at the location you're talking about, but I'm pretty sure they've moved.
