Forty2 Longboards is a small operation located in Seattle, Washington. Forty2 believes strongly that there should not be a disconnect between art and function and was born out of a desire to combine these ideals. The designer and builder, Sean, is a skater who has often been unsatisfied with the commercial board choices presented to him. After many years in high end construction, he developed an understanding of the intricacies of different woods, as well as the fundamentals of elegant design. Experimentation began in his garage and after several successful builds for friends the word got out. Forty2 Longboards is quickly establishing itself as a standout.

Forty2 creates decks that are sexy, unique, and, most importantly, geared for performance. Our boards hold their own in many disciplines. Forty2 has created long distance pumpers, double drops, cruisers, minis, and dancers.

All decks start with hand drawn shapes on a bamboo core. Fiberglass, carbon fiber, and hybrid fabrics are utilized to help tune flex to specific rider weight, intended uses, and custom desires. Full, partial, and split hardwood stringers created from mahogany, walnut, maple, padauk, and other exotic woods can be added for additional tuning and to augment the natural beauty of the bamboo. The individuality of each deck is additionally enhanced by one-of-a kind grips. If desired, each grip can be hand cut with its own unique, rider inspired design.

The low production numbers and attention to detail allow for a high level of customer service. You can expect a full consultation (and even ride a sample board if you are close to Seattle) regarding your board before bamboo ever enters the press. If something isn’t working we will work hard to make things right.
