It is a bright and exciting time for all of us in this new era of skateboarding! As of Friday, October 23, Colabo.ca would like to welcome you to their fresh and new horizon and new website www.colabo.ca . Trailing back to the initial creation of the many non-profit longboarding videos and the synergy of Team Colabo, their passion and experience has rapidly grown to a point where they can further there innovative efforts through new COLABOrations. Through the past year they have successfully been able to complete their first official feature length longboard film, The Fellowship of the Bearing, which was captured completely in HD and funded on heart and determination.
The film itself was shot and edited over the course of the 2008-2009 season with the co-operation of the Colabo's Team riders and the kindness of Colabo's amazing digital video crew. Stepping freshly into the film industry initially made the production quite the gamble, but through many trials and tribulations the film reached its finale. Great feedback and exposure both nationally and internationally lead to their latest outing to Alberta and being awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Banff Mountain Film Festival from November 3rd to 9th.
In September of 2008, Colabo embarked on an amazing trip to San Diego. On their travels they were introduced to GoPro Camera, an action sports camera company that was taking huge strides to improve their POV cameras (point of view). These micro digital video cameras were extremely durable, waterproof and mountable on just about anything. Eager to try the cameras with the sport of longboarding, Colabo got their hands on a few and went straight into it. Releasing a mini series, which profiled the cameras abilities gave Colabo Innovations a new angle to its high-speed videos: the point of view. Because the first cameras where standard definition, it made it difficult to incorporate the angles with Colabo's professional HD media, “production toys” and filming techniques. In the simmer of 2009 Dan Pape got the word, GoPro was going HD! While the announcement was kept under the radar, the wheels were in motion at Colabo with extensive field-testing of the new product.

To undergo a thorough experimentation of their NEW wearable cameras and gear. The result? Riders put these cameras to the test wearing them on nearly every square inch of their bodies. Through hairpin turns, 100km/h speeds, rain, massive ditches, and some of the gnarliest bails they tested to date.
