Me and my Abec11 Grippins, Saturday, 23 August 2008 Written by Cameronisswell - View all my reviews - Top 500 Reviewer Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: Just about 1 yearWhat Setup are you running them on?: Currently on: Loaded Pintail-flex 3 Paris 150's Bones reds Typical Discepline?: I do what they do best, and thats carving and cruising around. I have tried them out on numerous hills, and they perform wells to a certain extent, but because of the non-slidingness of the wheels they are not ideal. How much did you pay for them?: About $40 Where did you buy them?: Daddies Board Shop What are their weaknesses?: There really are only a few. They do not work as well as an "all around" wheel as something like a gumball or bigzig would. Saying that, i must also say that i dont believe that they are intended to be such a wheel. They are made to give the boarder a comfortable and stable ride with tons of grip and zero sliding or skidding around. In that manner I must say they excel. What are their strengths?: Like I said above, you cannot expect this wheel to give you an industrial strength grip one ride, and slide greased up butter the next. It sticks and does not let go. I ride these things hard at virtually 90 degree angle turns (not really, but close though) and they stick to the pavement like glue. If your looking for a ride thats smooth, quick, and cruising in the purest of form, then you will thoroughly enjoy the Grippins. What similar equipment have you ridden?: They are similar to gumballs and zigzags in the way they feel, just with more grip and none of the sliding capability. Would you recommend them?: Yes

Fantastic Carving Wheels!, Monday, 28 July 2008 Written by Ryan97 - View all my reviews - Top 500 Reviewer But go with 81a or higher, the 78a is just too damn grippy. Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: Month and a halfWhat Setup are you running them on?: Homemade 38in deck, Bear 852s, and Biltins Typical Discepline?: hard carving, light downhill, little garage action How much did you pay for them?: 40 USD Where did you buy them?: LBS What are their weaknesses?: Can't seem to ride out of a slide with them, I can slide, but rarely will it not be a complete stop. A little smaller than I like to ride. What are their strengths?: Fantastic grip!! I have never slid out unless I really throw my weight into them. Very manuverable, and they have that sweet Abec 11 lime green color! What similar equipment have you ridden?: Zig Zags, but those are off-set.... Would you recommend them?: Yes
