Reviews written by 700mike007 Great rucks for DH, Thursday, 15 May 2008 Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: 3 monthsWhat Setup are you running them on?: Evo with 83mm flywheels Typical Discepline?: DH, soke slide How much did you pay for them?: $50 Where did you buy them?: milehighskates.com What are their weaknesses?: My friend was sliding them and one session he realized he had bent the axel(8mm). Thats one reason i dont slide them but mine are in excellent condition for just DH. What are their strengths?: Very stable ride. Come in different angles. Great for DH. What similar equipment have you ridden?: not much that compare Would you recommend them?: Yes Awesome street wheels, Thursday, 15 May 2008 Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: 1 monthWhat Setup are you running them on?: black label 7.8 Typical Discepline?: street, park How much did you pay for them?: $30 Where did you buy them?: local skate shop What are their weaknesses?: None much. They're a great street wheel and provide everything i expect. decent in parks but hot good on wood ramps at all. Get some bones spf if you like park. What are their strengths?: A really good wheel. They give you everything you expect from a street wheel and perform well in parks. They're hard so they seem like they will last a long time What similar equipment have you ridden?: bones spf Would you recommend them?: Yes DH wheels to the extreme, Thursday, 15 May 2008 Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: 3 monthsWhat Setup are you running them on?: Evo with 8mm bears Typical Discepline?: DH, some slide How much did you pay for them?: $60 Where did you buy them?: milehighskates.com What are their weaknesses?: They are kind of big so cruising around takes a few pushes. Dont really like to slide them.(and i have an ew drifter to take care of slding). Biggest weakness is price. Thats the main reason i dont slide. At $60 a set I take it easy on them. What are their strengths?: Awesome DH. They are very fast and really durable since i dont slide them, but they did get a chip in them after a 2 months but thats what you should expect from riding around campus. What similar equipment have you ridden?: 3dm, sec9 race Would you recommend them?: Yes Great slide wheel, Thursday, 15 May 2008 Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: about a monthWhat Setup are you running them on?: Earthwing 35.5 drifter. They fit like a glove Typical Discepline?: sliding, sometimes park How much did you pay for them?: $35 Where did you buy them?: thelongboardstore.com What are their weaknesses?: Its tough to pick out weaknesses for a slide wheel. Of course they wear away but i havnt just started sliding so i cant compare. I will say that after a month of hard sliding almost everyday(at least every other day) these wheels wore down quite a bit. They also break away a little too easy at the park when you take hard turns. What are their strengths?: These are my favorite wheels to slide. They break away easily and will slide forever. They feel like they're made for the drifter series and when i have a pair on my drifter i couldnt be happier What similar equipment have you ridden?: Sector 9 slide formula, bones stf Would you recommend them?: Yes Hands down the best slide board, Thursday, 15 May 2008 Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: About 3-4 monthsWhat is your setup like?: Indy 169's, earthwing slide a's, black khiro bushings. Use this setup if you plan to buy please its awesome! Typical Session Discipline: Sliding, cruising to class, sliding, some street, sliding. How much did you pay?: $70 for the deck, usual retail for everything else Where did you purchase it?: Thelongboardstore.com What were the strengths of the deck.: The drifter is incredibly constructed. I messed up on a slide and slammed it into a wall(not ran in, slammed) and there was barley a dent it the nose, and its unoticable. The size is perfect and combined with the slide a's its an incredible ride. Breaks away easy but grips when you want it too. What were the weaknesses?: I didnt notice it until i rode my shortboard but the tail has some flex which i would amagine make it tougher to ride bowl but its a slide deck for a reason. I tried it out at the skate park and dropped in on it and it felt fine so i dont really see it as too much of weakness, just a preference i guess. Similar decks you have ridden?: Shortboard? nothing quite like it but i cant imagine anything being better shaped(ie rayne agent, surgio yuppie). Would you recommend it?: Yes Results 1 - 5 of 6 |
