Reviews written by Anjo K Stoked? Definitely, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 Most if not all US sites charge ridiculous amounts of money to send stuff to the UK & I'm glad Stoked hasn't gone down that rip-off path by offering reasonable rates on their P+P. Being able to buys wheels & trucks individually is also a major benefit, I know only 1 other online store where you can do that & that's chaput's own business. Seriously, it's a business opportunity a lot of retailers are missing out on & no doubt increasing their stock turn as economic situations tighten up. Great pricing on nearly every product & not over charging on international shipping has just made Stoked (US) my one stop for gear now & I'll be recommending it to all my friends here too. Great job Stoked Skateboards! Retailer Reviews What did you buy?: 2 Orange Bigzigs1 Set of Biltins When did you buy it?: Late July How much did you spend?: about $50 Was the site easy to navigate if the purchase was online?: Yes Did the purchase go smoothly?: Yes Did you feel like they appreciated your business?: No issues with the order, so yes. Would You recommend them in the future?: Most definitely To Slide or Not To Slide, Sunday, 06 July 2008 Aside from that they are incredibly predictable once you've been sliding them for a while, which really helps with getting your timing right angling into slides on narrow hills as you know up until which point you can trust them to hold. Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: 2 MonthsWhat Setup are you running them on?: 60mm 98a on a Flex 2 Loaded Dervish - Bones Reds W/Spacer 65mm 96a on a Flex 1 Loaded Dervish - Biltins Bearings Both with Gullwing Charger 10" trucks Typical Discepline?: Sliding How much did you pay for them?: £35 for the 60mm in the UK, $36 for the 65mm in the USA Where did you buy them?: Antenna Studios (UK) & Daddies (USA) What are their weaknesses?: Unrideable unless being used for sliding down a hill or picking up speed to, you guessed it, slide down a hill (not really a weakness as that's all I use them for) What are their strengths?: Centerset for rotation in the unlikely event of coning. Break grip with ease for sliding. After 5 days of 4 hours sessions on WT they showed no signs of wear at all, coupled with Biltins the wheels failed to flat spot even with extended parallel sliding for distances up to 4 metres. What similar equipment have you ridden?: I've tried Gravity Super Sliders (72mm 96a) Terrible wheels, I just gave up on dedicated 70mm+ sliding wheels & ordered the 65mm No Skoolz Would you recommend them?: Yes ..or not to Dervish, that is the question, Thursday, 29 May 2008 Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: 2 MonthsWhat is your setup like?: Flex 2 Gullwing Chargers 10"/Stock Bushings Strikers 77mm 84A Assorted Bearings/Stock Spacers & Washers Typical Session Discipline: Cruising, Downhill, Sliding/Drifting, Commuting How much did you pay?: $310 Where did you purchase it?: LoadedBoards.com What were the strengths of the deck.: The drop through for the trucks really takes the edge off the learning curves & couple with the amazing chargers & 70mm+ wheels makes this board an incredibly smooth ride, even over cracked up roads. Also, being able to ride the board in either direction due to it symmetrical design is a major plus when it come to wearing out wheels evenly & switching sans board after slides etc. What were the weaknesses?: As with any board the exposed ends can be subject to cracking if hitting curbs at high speed (already lost a tiny chunk of fibreglass on mine) Spray on grip wears off after time, but this does allow you to get creative with grip tape :) Similar decks you have ridden?: Loaded Vanguard Would you recommend it?: Yes << Start < Prev 1 Next > End >> Results 1 - 3 of 3 |
