What are their strengths?: carvy with soft bushings, stable with harder bushings. can be flipped. look sweet. best all-around truck i've ever ridden What similar equipment have you ridden?: bear 852s Would you recommend them?: Yes Paris 150mm trucks, Wednesday, 01 July 2009 Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: 2 weeks of good bonding time & getting to know themWhat Setup are you running them on?: Loaded Pintail fl.2, purple 4prez o-tangs, white&blue khiros Typical Discepline?: pumping, carving, speedchecks/powerslides (no gloves) Where did you buy them?: traded boards w/ friend for a bit What are their weaknesses?: a little too unstable for anything more than 20-27mph What are their strengths?: very carvy and pumpy What similar equipment have you ridden?: Paris 180s Would you recommend them?: No Red Paris 180mm Trucks, Wednesday, 01 July 2009 Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: almost a yearWhat Setup are you running them on?: #1: homemade flexy dancer (made from snowboard), very soft & carvy bushings, 66mm lime zigs #2: LBL Komodo, uber squishy Venoms, 78a Gumballs Typical Discepline?: freeriding, hard carving, campus cruising Where did you buy them?: MonsterSkate What are their weaknesses?: kind of unstable, definitely not your dh/everything/all-around truck, get these only if you're doing carving, pumping and relatively flat pavement What are their strengths?: very carvy, easily pumpable, durable as far as i can tell. adam c. says the axles bend when you do slap shuvs but maybe he has crappy axles XD Would you recommend them?: Yes Landyachtz Evo, Wednesday, 01 July 2009 Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: 1-2 monthsWhat is your setup like?: Randal 180s, white Jimz bushings, all duro BigZigs Typical Session Discipline: downhill Where did you purchase it?: borrowed the deck from some friends What were the strengths of the deck.: very stable, low to the ground (easier to push), curvature in front allows me to lock my front foot in a good place, curvature in back allows me lots of leverage when turning, good size What were the weaknesses?: scrapes ground easily when going off curbs, doesn't turn that easily at slow speeds, difficult to slide Similar decks you have ridden?: Rayne nemesis Would you recommend it?: Yes flex 2 Loaded Pintail, Wednesday, 01 July 2009 I never use gloves riding this. I would not want to buy this board, but check out what I say about it, maybe it's right for you; but not moi. Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: a week or two of good bonding timeWhat is your setup like?: Paris 150s, squishy Khiros, Orangatang 4Prez Typical Session Discipline: freeriding, hard carving, cruising Where did you purchase it?: just borrowing from a friend for a bit What were the strengths of the deck.: very sharp and carvy, good for city cruising/carving and campus cruising; doesn't hit curbs on the way down because it's so short very predictable carve, i can go down hecka steep hills and carve/speedcheck them out with a bit of concentration. i can control my speed well with this board by carving/pumping, as long as i'm not going too fast What were the weaknesses?: the camber is too much; i definitely feel the rebound when I'm hard carving but it pushes me out of the board when i just wanna relax and cruise, maybe a bit of cross-stepping. if i ride it too long with my intense hardcore riding my right foot starts going numb. dunno why. (i'm goofy-footed fyi) can't go more than 25 or 30 on it without getting the wobbles feels a little unstable compared to my LBL Komodo. i feel as though i can't carve freely without thought on the pintail because i feel like i might fall off if i don't pay attention difficult to do tricks on it because it has no weight. shuv-its come at you fast, power shuvs are difficult because the board is so small, nose and tail are a little small (no easy manuals/nanuals unless you're decent at them) no kicktail, so go off them curbs fast and take a little hop beforehand again with the stability: kind of hard to do body varials/jump onto the board (at least with my super carvy/unstable set-up) because it wobbles when you jump off and on a little Similar decks you have ridden?: LBL Komodo (way better InMyOpinion) Would you recommend it?: Undecided Results 1 - 5 of 7 |
