Reviews written by Mr Ganker Yes plaese., Monday, 10 August 2009 Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: 1 yearWhat Setup are you running them on?: All of my boards at one point or another. Use them in lime BigZigs on my Pagan for DH. All my slide wheels. All my slalom set ups run them. Typical Discepline?: Crusing, commuting, slalom, sliding, tech DH. How much did you pay for them?: £22 Where did you buy them?: Octane sport/ Apollo11 What are their weaknesses?: They get dirty missedly quicker then other bearings, purlly from the lack of the double seal. What are their strengths?: Everything. There fast, smooooth, so so so easy to clean (you even get a bolt to make yourself a cleaning kit!) Great value, Really fast to swap your bearings as there is no farting around with spacers and speed rings. Sliding is nicer as the torsonal stress is lessened through the wheels. What similar equipment have you ridden?: So many other bearings. Although not anymore. All I buy now is Blitins. Would you recommend them?: Yes The Dancing Tank, Monday, 10 August 2009 Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: 8 monthsWhat is your setup like?: Flex 1 running Paris plates with randal 180 hangers. 4prez, Fat Frees or strikers (66mm). tall cones all through. Typical Session Discipline: Dancing, crusing. How much did you pay?: £275!!! Grumble grumble..... Where did you purchase it?: Um? Online.. Possibly MTsports. What were the strengths of the deck.: The ride is so so smooth. The shape of the nose and tail really lock your feet in so you can throw it around like a dream. Really solid! Taken many hits and the woods still fine, probably because its so dam thick! Takes your dancing to new levels.... Wow. What were the weaknesses?: SO so so big! Wight wise its a monster, riding more then 5 miles is an effort. Picking the bastard up. Again the weight cripples your arms after 30 mins. Foot breaking from speed (25+) DESTROYS your soles, just because there is so much weight behind it. Can just out turn a bus, making towns a pest and traffic a nightmare. The spray grip!!! it was so sharp when i got it that i still have scars all up my arms from missed tiger claws. And who puts a graffic ontop of grip?.... GRRR. Similar decks you have ridden?: Nothing this big... Would you recommend it?: Undecided I need a towel...., Monday, 03 August 2009 But fun fun fun time! Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: 5 months. What is your setup like?: Running it with randal 150s and Gummys. Tried Paris 150s, but not as nice. 4Prez, Strikers 66mm. Flex 2 Typical Session Discipline: commuting, carving , freeride/sliding. How much did you pay?: £225 complete Where did you purchase it?: Oddballs brighton What were the strengths of the deck.: Carves like a dream! The bambo is lovely and flexy and really springs you out of the carves - maks pumping a piece of piss. Length is great for the pedestrian slalom. Never had a problem with wheel bite even running 85s for a bit. Slides nice with a bit of practice. Can even dance on it... Just. What were the weaknesses?: Right. Quite a few here. Flex. Lovely to carve turns into evil wants to kill you at 30+mph. That flex just wants to throws you off the board... sketchy! Length. Great to commute on is really counter productive on fast hills 20+. Just not enough room for a nice tuck. Mind im 6'2 and have size 14 feet. Shape. The pin tail means there is no room to roll your back foot to colmen or just have a good slidey slide time. Nose. Its just slightly to small. So its a shove it on the tial only type board. Price! Serriously... WTF mate? Did you use gold to bond the layers? GRRRRR!!!! Similar decks you have ridden?: Fiber flex. Dervish Um... Nothing really has the same pop as the pin tail. Would you recommend it?: Yes Do the job., Friday, 24 April 2009 Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: A couple of months. What Setup are you running them on?: Loaded pintail, Randal 150s, Biltins Typical Discepline?: Everything and anything How much did you pay for them?: Came with board Where did you buy them?: Oddballs What are their weaknesses?: Choppy as hell when they frequently let go. Cant carve to hard or your slide. What are their strengths?: Smooooth when your crusing. Takes everything in its stride. As long as you dont push it to hard they gip fantastically.... just watch out for the letting go. What similar equipment have you ridden?: Strikers, Flashbacks ect. Would you recommend them?: Yes Go get yourself a set...., Tuesday, 21 April 2009 Go grab some now. << Start < Prev 1 Next > End >> Results 1 - 5 of 5 |
