Michael Stefaun's new Pro Deck from Pool Kings is bringing the bling!  Look at that thing!  Click it to visit the site.

Stefaun's roots are in street skating. Therefore, it's only natural that his pool shape closely resembles the traditional, double-end, twin tip shape that so many street decks incorporate. Michael's Pool King deck is constructed using polymer composites and 5 plys of hard rock maple veneers. Pool Kings claim these are 8 ounces lighter than standard 7 ply wood decks of the same size and shape and retain their "pop" for a longer time as well.

Good stuff, great starter wheel for almost any set up.
Equipment Reviews
How long have you ridden them?: About 6 months
What Setup are you running them on?: at first a sector 9 phoenix with stock gullwing trucks, then rayne libido with same stock gullwing trucks.
Typical Discepline?: pumping, carving, commuting
How much did you pay for them?: 40 bucks
Where did you buy them?: Hogtown
What are their weaknesses?: Can't slide very well, and when they do, they wear twice as fast. Slides out immediately when it touches water.
What are their strengths?: At 81a, they hold the best amount of grip without losing too much speed.
What similar equipment have you ridden?: not at the time
Would you recommend them?: Yes

Seismic trucks for me have sadly produced more cons than pros.

If you plan on buying them be ready to baby them in terms of maintenance.
Equipment Reviews
How long have you ridden them?: About two months
What Setup are you running them on?: Rayne Libido with ABEC11 Grippins.
Typical Discepline?: Pedestrian slalom, Commuting, Carving
How much did you pay for them?: $60
Where did you buy them?: Daddies longboard shop
What are their weaknesses?: First off, like the other reviewers have stated, the trucks are a hassle to clean. Lets just say that I've lost several toothbrushes to it. On top of that, placing the springs in (especially the more firm springs) is very difficult without the help of a clamp/buddy/heavy anything. Next is the dreaded rumour of the springs popping out in transition between turns. IT HAPPENS, an easy sign to tell if it is imminent is the grooves on the cap of the spring. For those who haven't ridden seismics before it is similar to a bushing magically dissapearing while riding... SCARY

Oh and one more thing, the springs are expensive to replace, and "tightening" them is fairly useless

What are their strengths?: They make good pumping trucks, the light springs give a good bounce when coming out of turns. Style points for people who have never seen a skateboard/longboard with trucks on them.
What similar equipment have you ridden?: nothing like it
Would you recommend them?: No

It's not that I don't recommend it completely. If you do happen upon this deck (the older models by the way) and find it to be real cheap, by all means buy it if you really want. But I suggest sanding down those dangerous front corners, or else you'll be forced to add risers until the cows come home.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: Two months
What is your setup like?: Seismic 180mm swapping between ABEC11 grippins and Retro Big Zigs (Pink), hard and soft risers, greaseball bearings.
Typical Session Discipline: Carving, Commuting, Pedestrian slalom
How much did you pay?: $70
Where did you purchase it?: Swap Meet
What were the strengths of the deck.: Just enough flex in it to bounce back however much force you put into it. Responsive. Easy to read sweet spot located right behind front trucks.
What were the weaknesses?: The wheel cutouts are horribly off measurment (in the older models as far as I know), giving a enough bite to cut into most wheels and leave a mark.
Similar decks you have ridden?: None, this is my first "light" slalom board.
Would you recommend it?: No
