Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: borrow it from time to time from my friendWhat is your setup like?: i think its got randal 150s and stock wheels Typical Session Discipline: cruising, bombing, dh carving How much did you pay?: none borrowed from friend What were the strengths of the deck.: if ur gona push straight on flat ground for 2 miles or less this would be a good board. What were the weaknesses?: it was very hard to make it turn even when the trucks were nice and loose. It isnt stable... and believe me ive ridden an extremely flexy board at about 25mph ( clocked on a gps and a road street speed recorder thing) and this thing is wayyyy more wobbly. Its pretty heavy too for cruising. Similar decks you have ridden?: loaded vanguard loaded dervish landyachtz spud insect mosquito landyachtz all star ladera surf n turf homemade drifting board some sector nine board thing Would you recommend it?: No Super awesome and even worth the long wait., Sunday, 10 August 2008
Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: about 5 months so far and im loving every minuteWhat is your setup like?: Insect mosquito 38" symmetrical deck with light flex randal r2 180 trucks, bones reds, seismic 78mm blast waves 80a(purple) Typical Session Discipline: moderate dh, slides, carves, watever How much did you pay?: about $280 Where did you purchase it?: the deck from insect and the parts from black diamond sports What were the strengths of the deck.: It pops you out of carves very nicely when you push it too but when you dont it has nice mellow carves. I didnt even know how to pump and then i got this and I found myself pumping down a whole street. The flexiness is nice and bouncy for boardwalking and general cruising but it stays decently stiff on hill bombs and u can hold a tuck on moderate hills with the trucks tightened up. It slides okish but it would slide a lot better in I decided to break in the wheels but for now im not going to. What were the weaknesses?: the nose and tail get these dark black scratches on em so id reccomed using some rubber to keep em scratch free, and the deck gets scrathed easily on the bottom. Mine is way more scrachted than my friends loaded vanguard that hes had for 2 years. But the performance of the board is great.
