great board, i love it.
for someone jsut getting into downhill that wants a) a board that is easy to learn on and b) a board that will handle just about anything you can throw on it, this is the board for you
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 2 months
What is your setup like?: bear grizzly trucks, flipped hangars, blue stim bottom; landyachtz 10mm bearings; 83mm flywheels
Typical Session Discipline: cruising, or dh up to around 35-40mph
How much did you pay?: $280 complete
Where did you purchase it?: direct from manufacturer
What were the strengths of the deck.: excellent concave, a LOT lighter than comparable boards that i've seen, great looks, excellent shape and size
What were the weaknesses?: first drop-deck i've owned, so it took some time to get used to turning
Similar decks you have ridden?: (stood on)landy evo, homemade dropthru speedboard
Would you recommend it?: Yes

they're great for a beginner, who's just cruising and carving, maybe a little downhill. but as soon as you get much more advanced than that, you'll really wanna upgrade.

but heeeeeeyy braaaaaahh, if you're just cruisin the boooooardwalk for chicks, this is the wheel for you, maaaann
Equipment Reviews
How long have you ridden them?: 6 months
What Setup are you running them on?: i've run them on a cruiser...i've run them on a slider
Typical Discepline?: sliding/cruising
How much did you pay for them?: came on a complete
Where did you buy them?: ground zero, marquette michigan
What are their weaknesses?: they're quite grippy right off the bat. but, once you slide them, they don't really grip anymore, like for cruising/carving.the core is quite weak, i ran into a curb and the side of the core got sheared, maybe .75" long
What are their strengths?: great for an all-around wheel (until you slide them)
What similar equipment have you ridden?: dregs labeda wheels, retro zigzags, abec11 flywheels
Would you recommend them?: Undecided

i got a set of these when i first started longboarding. i got the black ultra-hard bushings (100a or something), which was so stiff that it helped me build confidence while taking hills. they're really widely-available at pretty much any kickflipper shop, so that's a plus. the formula for the thane is mediocre at best, but like i said, i've only ridden the 100a bushings

Equipment Reviews
How long have you ridden them?: about 4 months
What Setup are you running them on?: flat pintail board...running tracker stim bottom bushings, superball 94a tops, bones reds bearings, 70ish (duro and diameter) blank wheels
Typical Discepline?: carving
How much did you pay for them?: came on a $90 complete
Where did you buy them?: ground zero, marquette MI
What are their weaknesses?: they are drilled for newschool only, a bit hard to turn unless you get them set up 100% properly
What are their strengths?: when you get 'em set up good, they're excellent carvers plus pretty stable up to 25 mph...great solid trucks, axles come straight
What similar equipment have you ridden?: core shortboard trucks, randal 180 longboard trucks, bear 184 longboard trucks
Would you recommend them?: Yes

this is my first board, and i really like it. i'm glad that this is my first board...not only did i get it at a REALLY good price (orig price was $150, but i got it for $90), and it's a really great board for learning the tricks of the trade
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: a little over a month
What is your setup like?: Tracker Dart 184's, RUSH ABEC7 bearings, Gravity SuperG wheels (73mm, 80a), black doh-doh bottom bushings and superballs on top
Typical Session Discipline: Cruising...sometimes carving
How much did you pay?: $90
Where did you purchase it?: Ground Zero, Marquette, MI
What were the strengths of the deck.: Great for all-around riding, quite stiff compared to other boards, not too heavy,
What were the weaknesses?: graphics, while going for the whole vintage thing, are still a little plain. wheelbite due to having no wheel wells at all...and the stiffness makes you really feel the riding surface (don't know if that's good or bad)
Similar decks you have ridden?: none
Would you recommend it?: Yes
