Reviews written by bucksaw87 Amazing!, Tuesday, 30 September 2008 Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: over 10 yearsWhat is your setup like?: Indy 10mm trucks, blank 3mm wheels Typical Session Discipline: Lots of ollies and kickflips...a few grinds and stuff too How much did you pay?: $5 Where did you purchase it?: Target What were the strengths of the deck.: Small, compact, can fit in your pocket What were the weaknesses?: The trucks bend if you screw up a kickflip Similar decks you have ridden?: Burger King Kid's Meal board Would you recommend it?: Yes amazing!, Monday, 22 September 2008 Slide!, Monday, 22 September 2008 Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: 5 monthsWhat Setup are you running them on?: various slide setups...earthwing 38" with indys, and now faltown with indy 215's Typical Discepline?: sliding! How much did you pay for them?: got them on a complete Where did you buy them?: RIT music, holland MI What are their weaknesses?: they're just kinda mediocre for pretty much everything. loud when you're just cruising, theyr'e kinda gummy when you're doing tricks. a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none type of wheel What are their strengths?: when you break them into sliding, they're REALLY fast and controllable. if earthwing slide a's feel "glassy", then noskoolz feel really fluid. a little more controlled, but you can really pinpoint any slide you try. What similar equipment have you ridden?: Earthwing Slide A's, Spitfire Numero Uno wheels Would you recommend them?: Yes There's a reason these are the standard, Saturday, 20 September 2008 Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: Over a yearWhat Setup are you running them on?: Many setups Typical Discepline?: anything from street, parks, DH, slalom, sliding... How much did you pay for them?: no more than $20 Where did you buy them?: everywhere What are their weaknesses?: not as quick or smooth as other bearings in the sub-$20 price bracket. What are their strengths?: like the title says, there's a reason that reds are the "standard" by which most other bearings are compared to. they provide a good, solid ride that's readily available at ANY skateshop...they're quick enough to not disappoint even the pickiest skater, they're easy to clean, they're a really reputable bearing. What similar equipment have you ridden?: rock'n'rons skyrockets, speedy lunatics, toy machine bearings, rush abec 7's Would you recommend them?: Yes Highly recommended from me, Saturday, 20 September 2008 Equipment Reviews How long have you ridden them?: Over a yearWhat Setup are you running them on?: Many setups...topmounts, dropthrus, drop-decks, buttboards Typical Discepline?: DH and going fast How much did you pay for them?: $70 for 10mm, $40 for 8mm Where did you buy them?: MHS, and a local shop What are their weaknesses?: The first gen lacks "tabs" on the sides of the baseplates, so they're not as strong. The axles are true 8mm...not exactly a disadvantage, but MHS can't face them, and they're sometimes a bear (haha, get it?) to get bearings on. and, there is some side-to-side play in the hanger, if you have the trucks too loose. and i've heard of people having problems with the hangers being weak, but i personally have NEVER had issues. What are their strengths?: More stable to me, than randals...They can still carve like none other...the axles are pretty straight, in my experience...the plates are pretty durable, i've had mine run into curbs a number of times. oh, another little thing...the plate sticks out a little bit and makes a makeshift bumper. oh, and i've really come to love red khiros from these trucks...the trucks used to come with red khiros stock, which are great bushings for the trucks. What similar equipment have you ridden?: randal r2 180's (old and new gen), radikal talons, indy 215's, tracker 184's Would you recommend them?: Yes Results 6 - 10 of 25 |
