Quantcast

Newsflash

Pocket Pistol's B. "Chicken" Deck is all over the import industry's use of heat-transfer graphics to boards.  Sure, he's a silk-screen traditionalist (and one of the best), but there's more to this than just gripin':  heat breaks down epoxy and the boards get hot!

Of course, PPS makes all of Christian Hosoi's boards and you never met a better OG Skate God.  Click Chicken's graphic to leap over and check out the latest Hosoi boards, all silkscreened...

I think this is a wonderful board, I was between this and a Caften and since my friend has the Evo which is so similar to the Caften I wanted to go something different, and I got the white one that Mark dug out of storage, it is pretty sexy in white, I had to go for it.

I love it, and would absolutely recomend it.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: About 8 months
What is your setup like?: Flipped R2s, 77mm 79a Speed Vents, Pleasure Tool Abec 7 bearings.
Typical Session Discipline: Downhill/some cruising
How much did you pay?: I don't remember exactly, the whole setup together probably cost around like 250 or more.
Where did you purchase it?: Mile High Skates, already had the trucks and bearings
What were the strengths of the deck.: Great concave, nice width, very stable, this is my first downhill board so I don't have much to compare it to, but I used to do hills on my vanguard, and this is ten times for what I do with it.
What were the weaknesses?: Seeing as how it is still set up with R2s (hopefully putting grizzlies on soon) I do get wobbles every so often, but hopefully that will go away with a more stable downhill truck.
Similar decks you have ridden?: My friends Evo
Would you recommend it?: Yes

This is such a good mini, next to the humu, it is probably my favorite, and for it's price it is a steal!
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: Probably about a month
What is your setup like?: The way it comes, getting 66mm zigs for it soon.
Typical Session Discipline: Cruising
How much did you pay?: $115, because of tax
Where did you purchase it?: Malibus Surf Shop
What were the strengths of the deck.: Very very tight turning radius because of it's size and the size of the trucks
What were the weaknesses?: Feels like it isn't the strongest board when you ride it, but I ride with my feet over the trucks, but when they are in the middle it flexs a lot, I also weigh around 160 pounds.
Similar decks you have ridden?: None
Would you recommend it?: Yes
