Reviews written by geolemon Slooooow, Thursday, 10 July 2008 Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: 1 yearWhat is your setup like?: upgraded to ABEC-7 bearings, otherwise stock. Typical Session Discipline: Carving, for this board How much did you pay?: $80 Where did you purchase it?: Ebay What were the strengths of the deck.: Rides like a snowboard, carves have a natural "roll", which is a great sensation. Makes the most ridiculously tight turning circles, with the most ridiculously leaned board angles, which is very cool. This would be fun to bomb a hill with, a steep hill anyway - I lose speed even on a mild hill, even with my bearing upgrade. That's pathetic. But if you have a steep hill, it rides like a snowboard, and would be fun. What were the weaknesses?: Useless for flat ground, for transportation, for cruising. This thing is slow. I originally suspected the bearings, and replaced them all with ABEC-7 bearings. This did help, but it's STILL painfully slow, unbelievably. That means there's something fundamentally flawed with the engineering, although I can't see it [as an engineer, lol], other than this: WEIGHT. This thing weighs a TON, as you might suspect from a massively wide deck, two "trucks", and FOURTEEN wheels. These all might be contributing factors to the speed issue. Similar decks you have ridden?: None, this is unique. Would you recommend it?: No << Start < Prev 1 Next > End >> Results 1 - 1 of 1 |
