Original Torpedo 40 review,  Thursday, 05 June 2008 I ordered mine with the wider 8" inch S8 trucks, as recommended by the guys at Original.
These trucks, even though wider, still put the boards turning circle inside of 8 feet. Whats more is the wider platform gives insane stability. You get it all, an insanely sick, tight turning radius, as well as the stability of a wider 8" truck platform for speed. The trucks have springs that snap the trucks back to center. So when you pump the board fast the board stays straight, speed wobbles are totally engineered out of the board. It can't speed wobble. The trucks have built in stops too. I have 70mm wheels on my board and the built in stops, stop the wheel 1/4" from the board. The board cannot wheelbite. I carve this board as hard as I want and never worry. Wheelbite is engineered out of the board too.
The board is flexy but not to much. The kick tail is so friendly too, just a great feature absent on most other similiar model type boards. Good convave through out the deck too.
The surf art on this board is kind of abstract a really cool graphic.
I take my Torpedo where ever I go and love to carve up hills on it. Just a perfectly ballanced board. I highly recommend it.
