Reviews written by jamiesumner i like it, Tuesday, 16 December 2008 Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: 2 weeksWhat is your setup like?: grizzly trucks, 76mm hawgs, landyachtz bearings i guess or whatever they put in it at LY, red Khiro bushings to replace the pumpkins it came with which I didn't like Typical Session Discipline: downhill, carving (more bombing now though!) How much did you pay?: 260 or so i got it complete Where did you purchase it?: landyachtz site What were the strengths of the deck.: It's so stable, I haven't got any wobbles at all, but i'm used to bombing 30mph hills with revenges and never really got what i think of as honest-to-go "you're about to eat shit" speed wobbles from them. Now I'm hitting 40-45mph hills (I guess, hard to tell actual speed but goddam fast to me) and if I'd have known it would be this good I'd have been had one. it's so stable it feels like you're going slower than with a taller board. I LOVE it. What were the weaknesses?: Well, mine came with Grizzly trucks from landyachtz, and they have that reversible hanger. I couldn't tell any difference in the turning when i switched them to the supposed "bombing mode" and the bushings they came with I just didn't like, it felt like they just wouldn't mash. The trucks work fine, though, they seem just a little beefier than my randal 2s, so not really a weekness, just sort of disappointing that i didn't end up with these amazing transforming trucks. Similar decks you have ridden?: nothing, but now I would like to check out some other lowered decks. Would you recommend it?: Yes good deck, Saturday, 29 November 2008 Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: about a yearWhat is your setup like?: Revenge trucks, no risers, lemon BigZigs Typical Session Discipline: downhill/hard carving How much did you pay?: the deck, about $70 Where did you purchase it?: ZigBoys Gaffney SC What were the strengths of the deck.: I'm a heavier rider, 200lbs, and the deck flexes without being floppy. The adjustable wheelbase gave me something to mess around with, and it's nice looking what with that wood and all. What were the weaknesses?: Well, mine's still in real good shape, and i ride it alot, but i felt funny giving it a 5 on durability because it is thin. It's still as sound as the day i bought it. Like i said, it flexes, but i've ridden flexier sector nines, so if u really want flex, it's not the flexiest i guess. Flexes plenty for me though. Similar decks you have ridden?: Sector 9 J-Bay, Speed Goddess Would you recommend it?: Yes << Start < Prev 1 Next > End >> Results 1 - 2 of 2 |
