Newsflash

Outlaw Racing in the News:  Pasadena City College's newspaper covered the rampage on Dump Road.  It's a pretty good article and worth checking out.

file icon Progression Not Regressionhot! 09/22/2007 Hits: 214
There are hundreds of thousands of older skaters around the world who spread the stoke of skateboarding to the current generation. Each one teaches, inspires and mentors skaters in his (or her) own unique way. Likewise, there are hundreds of thousands of younger skaters who inspire and teach the older generation of skaters and quite often blow their minds with how far they progress. I’ll be the first to admit that today’s level of skating is truly awesome. I simply can’t believe what skaters are accomplishing at increasingly younger ages. Sometimes, however, we get so caught up within our own skate worlds that we forget that all generations of skaters have something to offer

file icon NO LIMITS A Profile of Brazilian Longboarder Christie Aleixohot! 07/16/2007 Hits: 279
Christie Aleixo is a skateboarder, in the true sense of the word. She rides not for fame or money. She rides for the love of a piece of wood with 4 wheels attached to it. If this seems like something normal in a place where there is an abundance of wealth and prosperity, it means much more when you speak of a country such as Brazil, where the land of opportunity is a place very far away. Here, you have to be a warrior in the true sense of the word. Every day is a battle and if Christie were to have a rank, she would be a general. She’s a single mother, an independent woman, intelligent, beautiful and kind. At the same time as there are many words to describe her, no words are sufficient. All that needs to be said is that skateboarding runs through her veins. Skate NA VEIA.

What kinds of material do you incorporate into your products? Sean Methven, Product Line Manager, Pro-tec This depends on the price point and intended use of the product. Most pads we make utilize an injection molded hard cap, EVA foam, Memory foam, Ballistic Nylon, Neoprene, Airprene, Velcro, etc. We’re working with a company right now to utilize their proprietary impact-absorbing material. This new material will absorb impact more efficiently and be much thinner than normal foams. This will allow us to slim down our designs while improving the safety characteristics.

In June of 1961, East German leader Walter Ulbricht set things in motion for the
creation of the Berlin Wall. On August 9th of that same year the Wall was erected
and it became the most famous symbol of the Cold War. For someone of my generation
(born in 1964) it was inconceivable that the Berlin Wall could ever be torn
down. But in November of 1989, the wall actually did come down. The history of the
Berlin Wall is both fascinating and tragic. I am publishing this photo because I want
to clearly illustrate what happens when walls do in fact come tumbling down.
