Those with a sharp eye will remember Carly “Midget” Richardson featured
in the table of contents photo from Vol. 3 no 5. Carly lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, a place that has a reputation for being both a skate mecca and a pretty rainy city. As you can see, Carly isn’t going to let something like a little bit of rain stand in her way of riding.

Michael Brooke: What was it like being a part of the ‘70s skate scene? Chris Carmichael: Living in southern California in the early ‘70s was the epicenter for surfing and skateboarding. I was 14 years old when my grandfather gave me my first movie camera. I started surfing and entering contests and became No. 1 in 1969, in the boys division in the US. This also continued the following year in the Junior Men’s division. I was No. 1 in 1970 and 1971.

The Silverfish coverage of Gravity Skateboards slidefest '05. With the local Ninja Bomb Squad in attendance along with such sliding giants as Cliff Coleman, Sergio Yuppie, WillJ, Chris Dahl and Farbice it was an awesome contest to watch and an even more exilarating to be a part of, my scar is still a killer reminder of that day.
