Combining my board building hobby with biking. Some quarter sawn white oak fenders. Just got the first on out of the mold and rough shaped. Still need to figure out how I'll mount them.

Stain them like a dark brown and get a matching Brooks saddle. And get some real pedals.

If I didn't have so much black on the bike I would dig that, however, quarter sawn white oak is one of my favorite woods and it has incredible figure too it once you finish it so it's probably going to stay natural. I am thinking about trying another set in walnut though...

I love the specks of quartersawn oak. It is gorgeous, but walnut is prettier than oak imo.

Is there somewhere I can go to find out roughly what the value of a bike is? I've got a few that have been sitting around for 5+ years that I'm looking to sell and I'd like to know what a fair market value is.

Post some pictures, we can help you here. Bikepedia is also useful. They list the MSRP of the bike when it was new, which can help you gauge whether or not it was a budget or higher end bike when it was new. But you'd be lucky to get maybe 25% of MSRP.

^What he said. We can help you out if you post some pictures and give us some basic specs. Unfortunately unless it was a decent bike back in the day, a 5+ year old bike probably wont go for very much.

Been doing a lot of night riding due to skating at the park until late. So I ordered some stuff from amazon. I finally got it all today so going to test them out tonight. They have a lot of forresty area that connects through out the city away from cars. The big lights came with a head strap so I can use one as a head lamp as well.

    cool!

night rides are fun, it gets dark so early in the winter that I do lots of training rides in the dark. There's usually two kinds of lights - ones to actually see, and ones to be seen. Yours look good for seeing.

You are right, but they have a low power and strobe function. I ended up using one as a head light because it's nice to always see what you are looking at when you are surrounded by woods and want to do a sweep for animals head.

The middle light works real good as a see me light when I do come up to a road/ neighborhood. So I turn off the spot lights and just ride with the middle light.

I've been commuting to work lately when the weather is nice, it's about 25 miles round trip and rather smooth. It didn't take long to change the seat and bar height to more comfortable levels.....I also changed from MKS GR9's the GR10's they fit my foot better and overall are more comfortable

Today on my ride home form the local park, my rear derailer flopped off. I manage to rig it with zip ties and electrical tape to make it home.

Also saw a family of racoons

Any of you crazy cats into freestyle fixed gear? I'd love to build up a bike like that, but since I'm a huge pansy, I'd want to put it on a singlespeed drivetrain.
