Thanks! Those are Hamid's Metal Bee cork pads. I think they might help vibration a bit.

Crazy busy at work, not getting anything done (not even surf)! On a positive note: received my new surfboard last week and sneaked in some work on it already (work as in: painting). Will show the end result when ready.

Ah... I'll have to go find them on FaceNeck.

It's good news. Maybe longboarding isn't completely dead. On life support, but...

Scootering is sickeningly alive. I'd love to get "their kind" involved in downhill, LDP or other similar activities somehow or another. Inline skating is also coming back. It'd be a beautiful thing to unite in common activities and keep eachother on life support when it goes on ice.

Maryhill freeride this weekend is this concept exemplified. Skating. Luging. Butt Boarding. Drift Triking. Inline Skating. Gravity Biking. and yes, Scootering.

After 5 years of not being ridden, I completely disassembled my luge.

yes, an uber-grippy, square-lipped slalom wheel IS the best for sliding

My little brother is actually getting pretty good going down hills on scooter. I still pass him with a good tuck but he's getting there.

So who's hosting Maryhill this year?

I decided that my knees were not in good enough shape to survive luging so I never did build one.

Longboard Larry make cork risers too. I've recently put some on one of my setups but can't confess to there being a significant difference to other pad / riser materials.

There's supposed to be leaf spring trucks coming out this year. I'd love to see how the shock absorbing translates on rough roads/sidewalk and at higher speeds.

Too bouncy. Need coil overs with shocks or proper struts!

It's not a small or weak spring. Something tells me it won't absorb much of anything in our application. If I find it I'll post it but they were using it on a skateboard and it was absorbing landings with little flex.

    You referring to these?

They are available. I chatted with a street skater who was riding them, and he loves them.

I'm not so sure they make anything that many people will want to ride at "higher speeds" though...

Dang it yes. You posted seconds after I edited. They told me in the past they're planning on longboard trucks later this year. They'll have to get samples out so we can see how they work.
