    Default Dimm Press Instructional Video

Alright! So after a day-long battle with Windows Movie Maker and Vimeo (no joke it was an epic battle) I finally have the movie up and ready for your viewing!

It is 13 mins long so it's not really a light video but I got just about everything in there so if you want to make a Dimm Press this will be highly helpful.

Enjoy! And ask any questions if some went unanswered.

Oh and sorry for the repetition I say the same #### like 3 times at the beginning.

    Unscripted!

so the first drop deck you made a little while back out of 5 pieces of 1/8in BB, does it flex at all? or is it 100% stiff

Nope. I was surprised at first, too. But after a little bit of experience with this kind of pressing I am growing very confident with this foam.

I really hope this will replace wood... it's SO MUCH EASIER. And you can make a press in about an hour. It's amazing.

    Thanks for the compliments everyone!

So basically after that you just lay the pieces of wood on it then clamp it down with glue etc? If so then I don't think I'll buy another board again haha. What type of foam exactly is it? Maybe you could do a follow up video of you actually pressing a board and sharing the results! Very nice job on the video

    great vid dimm.

    something i would do:
put what ever pieces you can (basically only the positive side) on the wood first, then sand it so its consistent for the whole platform

    Nice one Dimm!

That was really helpful as it goes! I reckon we DO have that foam in Ireland, it's just not blue! I recognise the sound of it which I wouldn't have got, only for your video!

    Cheers!

Yeah I figured you would have to have it... is it pink? I remember a while back I used to make other stuff with this foam but it was actually pink and then they changed it for whatever reason. Maybe yours is still pink? Anyways yeah the foam makes very characteristic sounds... and I really like them! I love working with foam I'm thinking of working on some surfboards. I already know how to do everything...

    PS: Screw you.

Good. I understand if you're buying like a carbon bamboo v-lam speedboard but buying ANYTHING from sector 9 is like throwing money away cause anyone with a little bit of knowhow can make those decks.

dimm what i mean is, instead of sanding each piece individually, glue them to the wood first then sand so you get the consistency of sanding 1 big block. be careful though, because you wont be able to sand the small triangle wedges if you glue them first, so this will basically only work for the positive side.

That's actually a pretty good idea. I might try that next press I make.
