I use threaded aluminum rivets that fit the standard 10-32 hardware ...
and I have an unsubstantiated theory about the benefits of the bolts not touching the board. Name: 20. rivets.jpg

The top logo has a hand-painted (that's why it looks like a child did it) background and the
text is done by screen printing. Here I am laying that up with 2 layers of 4 oz fiberglass to get
a cool woven texture on the top

Added wheel wells, UHMW bumpers on both ends that stick out slightly so when you pop the board up it doesn't scratch the bamboo,
and put on about 6 thin coats of Benjamin Moore clear floor urethane (at the suggestion of a wise builder on this forum)

    The finished product:

last part - this is the board from the top. I used the "epoxy grip" from churchill, it's super thick and I kinda butchered the cut out

the footholds on the "Drone" have concave, the middle part of the board is essentially flat. Since this is a mild concave and everyone has a nickname for their pattern I have dubbed this one the "Training Bra"

When riding in the footholds this has a very stiff flex, I'm a fat old guy at about 195 lbs and it doesn't move much with me on it.
But standing in the middle with the cut outs it will really flex.
Dimensions of the Drone are just under 39" in length, the width is 10.5", multiple wheelbases from 29" to 31" and before the griptape it weighed in at 4 lbs 4 oz.

2nd entry - this board is 2 layers of 3mm bamboo, triax and uni-directional fiberglass and a bottom layer of 1.5mm 2 colored bamboo -
also on both sides and over the rice paper graphics there is a layer of 4 oz fiberglass

In the previous entry you saw the press/concrete mold and crap so we skip that and start with the board coming out of the mold

six0xis "Higher Re-education" dimensions: 37.8" x 10" wide wheelbase is 31" and the weight before grip was an even 4 lbs

this board is cambered with a medium flex and has the mild [insert absurd name] "training bra" concave - the ride is supple and smooth with a well balanced fruity aftertaste

I would ride it everyday but I promised it to my 17-yr-old son that lives in Wichita, KS and he is about 6 or 7 inches taller than me so it will be his.

Here's my first shot at a board. I do some woodworking but never tried a longboard. It's made of 100 year old reclaimed cedar from a barn in kentucky, with a padauk and pearl resin inlay.

The black spots are where the old nails were when it was part of a barn. I thought that would make it look more recycled but now I'm thinking of covering those parts up with some strips of grip tape to make it look less scarred up.

    Freestyle Freebord

    Length: 33.5in Width: 9.5in Waist: 8.5in
    Concave: 11/16in
    Rocker: 0.5in
Setup: Freebord G3 trucks, freebord S2 bindings

    Materials:
    Grip with TioEmm logo cut-out
Adhesive gold vinyl (to show through the grip cut-out)
    1/8” Pre-lam (carbon fiber on balsa-bamboo-balsa V-Lam)
    1/8” Pre-lam
1/8” Pre-lam (carbon on the bottom)
    3/32” 5-ply Bamboo

Designed for freestyle this deck is built with balsa/bamboo/carbon fiber “pre-lam”s. These are 1/8” balsa-bamboo-balsa V-Lams with carbon fiber applied to one side. The bamboo and carbon give the deck enough strength to stand up to freestyle abuse and the balsa reduces the weight for some big air. There are small tip/tail extensions to allow stalls. And, the deck is rockered to increase the edge wheel clearance.

Okay.... I wasn't going to submit this one as it was the first board I built this year and while I love the board, I wasn't sure it would be classified as "sick".... However, my son and stepson changed my perception of the board when they said it was their favorite.... guess old style is making a come back lol....

This board is thicker than most of my other boards.... the top deck is made from 1/4" Bubinga from Africa, Tamarand from Laos and Bocote from Mexico, pressed with 3 1/8" BB ply. Great for bombing.... okay for carving and pretty decent for cruising.....

So here's mine. It turns out I will only be submitting one, as my first entry (a carbon fiber commuter/mini speedboard) had a very yellow finish that, in my opinion, compromises the look I was going for. My second entry was a slide deck prototype, but it was too heavy, thick, and cumbersome, so while there is a photo below of it, I will only be submitting its successor, slide deck prototype #2.

All that aside, here are a bunch of photos for everyone to make sense of. Feel free to ask questions about my entry in the upcoming voting thread and/or results thread soon thereafter.

Presenting, the second slide deck prototype, my new favorite board. This is composed of a birch core, sandwiched with maple veneers, and reinforced with carbon fiber on bottom. It's very thin, super light, and extra nimble when sliding:
