I'm still quite a newby but I'm stoked for this winter and hopefully getting into some composites maybe.

    smallest-largest
24" mini, just a quick build, built from another that didn't turn out.
Near exact replica of the landy spud but I think this has more drop, 3"
44" drop-through speed board w/ 15 degree wedges front nose mount
47" cruiser/dancer made for a buddy (really wish it was mine)

    all just bb

the two decks out of all of mine that best qualify me for advice giving:

thats not stain on the second one, its all v-lam (and for those of you concerned about it from the board build off, its holding up fine couldn't ask for better )

    and some others:

and an old one for good measure:

ok so it was a little fib, that one is only crappy 1/8" birch from home depot. It was one of my first boards and it's nearly an inch thick. The bend is over 6" from level to level

Nice call out. Good to know that all talk and no material won't cut it in a building forum.

Funny comment about the homeless dude. Reminds me of catching one sifting through a dumpster behind an adult bookstore looking for VHS boxes for jerk material. Poor little pervert.

Here are few I've built mixed in with my present bought boards.

The board rack is new based on an old tutorial by Wefunk, http://www.silverfishlongboarding.co...highlight=rack. Brilliant dude no doubt.

The newest is unfinished, the flexy carver with coned gumballs.

Anyway, thanks for your comments and advice over the course.

The shape looks good. One thing to keep in mind though, is that sharp corners can create an easy fracture point in your board. In future builds you may want smooth that out, especially in an area of concentrated torsion right by the truck mounts.

That's a board I build a couple of months ago (click here to view the thread). It was broken by a careless girl, so it's not in use anymore. Sold the trucks and trashed the deck.

I wonder if this thread might be a *bit* misguided... if it's equating specific board building experience as the path to knowledge on the tools and techniques people are seeking advice on!
...Building skateboards are NOT the way most people learn these fabrication skills, unless they are amateur board builders, just wanting to experiment as their means of learning. That almost inherently means [unless they've done research outside the skateboard world] that they likely aren't using standard practices.

Personally, I've built a board, and am starting a new project as we speak:

But the number of ways of getting fabrication experience, lamination experience, of learning advanced tooling, machining, mold-work, or other techniques is almost immeasurable...
So many career fields employ not only advanced fabrication techniques, but employ quality systems and standardized approaches that additionally create real expertise - and that's discounting any sort of specialized training, education, or apprenticeships that a person in any of these fabrication fields might have gone through...
Here's something I did for an innovative audio products company:

Even with a steel shaft, that's a 1 pound assembly - foam core Kevlar sandwich composite.
Vacuum bagged - same as you would for a skateboard, but with maybe a little more control and concern for precision.

So I'm left scratching my head - who really cares if a fabricator has made a skateboard? What's important is that the fabricator understands all the variables that can be manipulated to yield a desired output, and knows the techniques and order of operations to successfully pull it off.

What's important in someone giving advice is that they have experience specifically in the thing they are offering advice on. Laminating, vacuum bagging, wood-working, router techniques - none of these are skateboard-industry specific, by any stretch. What's important is a correct answer.

What's really the cool thing about this thread is just seeing all the great stuff people have built!
