Maybe cult creators, but I guess they're 72 mm

Earthwing bruisers!!! Yea they're 72, but if we're talking freeride wheels that are gonna be slid to death, that 2mm is pretty much
just mould release, it won't be there long.

Then by the same token, I guess rainskates mega tsunamis, although less duro options there.

Both are a tad harsher than some similar sized wheels due to their over-size core, but that's also a large part of
what makes them slide so great...

    Hello guys,

I am looking for some freeriding wheels which are 70ish mm tall and are good for low/medium speed sliding. I want something that is easy to kick out and won't kill speed, slidy but not icy.

Would Creators, Slick Shoes, Skiddles, Harlots or Swingers do the trick? Feel free to recommend anything else.

    Thanks in advance.

Remember Hoots excel at lower speed sliding have excellent roll speed and wear out slowly. I don't think they are icey but on occasion they can be more slidey than you'd expect.

I have a set of Lil Hoots, how do they compare? Or are they the same?

90% the same. If you want a wheel that is going to be slidey at low speeds but controllable and specifically not icey, you're going to have to look into more thaney wheels like Hawgs Tracers, Volante Morgan's, Blood Orange Liam Morgan's, Venom tweakers , etc. mind you the thanier the wheel the less it'll last

Also anything that won't kill speed will be inherently icier as a trait.

Didn't actually see that but yeah those would all be good choices. Have tried swingers and Harlots. Harlots were more controllable and dumped a surprising amount of thane. Swingers were definitely more slidey at lower speeds though. Much less slow down in slide. Heard good things about skiddles and creators though, I doubt you could go wrong with your current selection

Venom accidentally poured harlots in 80a mach 1 formula, and they're branding it "extended durability" and selling for $40.
Worth? Will they slide like crap, but for a really long time because it's a grip oriented formula? Or could they actually be good?
I heard a lot of less than rave reviews of the mach 1 cannibals, considering the level of hype around all venom products,
so I'm hesitant to pull the trigger. Heard they were chip city, and not as fast or grippy as advertised, certainly not the "fastest and bestest race wheel on the market" as claimed. But if these are any good, it'd be a long lasting set of venoms for a reasonable price for once...
    decisions, decisions...

EDIT: If any of you got a set of the mis-poured hitp harlots, they're apparently the same thing. Would love to know how they are,
especially compared to the actual hitp, and normal versions.
If you've tried all 3 and could ride only one, what would it be and why?

I've tried HITP and regular one's, and my friend had a mispoured set of HITP's while while back.

Between the Harlots and HITP Harlots, if I could only choose 1 it would be reg's simply because it's more versatile and slides feel pretty good to begin with anyway. It's obviously harder to kickout at lower speeds and more grippy, but its still a good time with tonnes of resistance and control.

The HITP's have a better feeling slide, especially compared to reg's at low speeds. They are tonnes of fun, but they dump so much thane and slide so easily at higher speeds without killing enough speed for my personal liking. (lighter riders would probs disagree). Definitely not unpredictable at all though, I just like more resistance.

I can't really imagine the mispoured's being that great. My buddy told me, they're about as grippy as the regular harlots, but the slide is so unpredictable and hookup and kickout is much much harsher and overall the slide feels a bit eh compared to a more buttery wheel that thanes. Mind you my mate may be a bit exaggerated since he was expecting an easy kickout, super thaney, wheel but got the mispoured set.

I think the idea with the Mach 1 formula was roll speed and possibly grip over nice slide characteristics. If you want a long lasting wheel for a sale price though go for it.

What is the greatest difference between Tunnel's standard wheel formula and the STR formula?

Totally different formulas! The standard formula is like ABEC's Classic formula, the STR is like their Reflex formula. Made at the same place as ABEC's wheels.

Love the STR! fast, smooth & grippy.

A venom "sale price" though lmao. If they were say $25 I wouldn't think twice about it but venoms sale price is on par with the rest of the industry's normal price pretty much. Thanks for the detailed reply though

Anyone tried Cloudride's Storm Chasers? Pretty curious about the urethane. Deciding between them and RAD's Max B's. They're priced pretty similarly, I know that I'll enjoy Max B's cause I've tried them, not sure about the Storm Chasers though. Still, pretty keen see what they're like, unless someone can convince me they're not worth buying.
