Normal trucks are supposed to be more carvy and turny. But reverse king pin trucks are more stable over all but they might be twitchy at first if your rode regular trucks.

There's way too much math/science into what actually makes them different.

All you need to know is both rock. They both can rock DH/Sliding/cruising/etc... It's all just based on preference. So go out and buy yourself a pair of each. Then decide what you like.

    Alright...

To the OP if you already tried normal trucks you should try reverse kingpin trucks.

Normal trucks are not ideal for DH. But there are good trucks for carving. Depending on the board you get or have you should try out the indys 169 or 215. The 215s are actually 215mm its somthing around 180mm.

if you read closely you'd realize that nothing on his quiver sig is real or logical

    Back on topic:
I have sets of both and currently im really loving the indy style of trucks (traditional) I am currently trying to find a nice bushing setup that would allow me to bomb steep hills but you really can't go wrong with either type if you have a load of bushings to play around with

reverse kingpin trucks have different pivot angles then vertical kp trucks.

from what i've read and based on my experience:

    Vertical KP Trucks
    -more responsiveness
    -more liveliness
-a little less stable at speed
    -much more response at speed
    -tight turning radius
-low BP height for a lower ride

    Reverse KP Trucks
    -stable
    -larger turning radius
    -more stable at speed
    -BP is higher, taller ride

Much of the way trucks will react depends on your bushings, angle of pivot and type of deck [top mount-more control, drop deck-more driftyness]

Also Indy's come stock with a 17*[?] or 15*[?] baseplate, I cant quiet remember.

I run indys on my nemi and bear 1040's on my rocky bomber but I do DH/Freeride on both of them. I love vertical KP trucks for their response. With the right bushings and comfort on your board you can do anything on any trucks. My buddy does DH on a custom carbonfiber foam board [NO WOOD!!!?!? awesome right?] with 135mm [?] vertical KP trucks and he doesnt have a problem because he is comfortable.

The only way to know what you like is to get out and try it! so go buy some trucks and a ton of bushings and have some fun!!!

yea, I saw original precision trucks and I was like "DERP?!"

but I rock an 88a venom tall cone and a 91a venom barrel [both SHR] and I go 40+ mph on it yet I run to the next hill and can do big ass 360's without worrying about tightening/loosening the trucks. [I am 5'7" and 150 LBS for refrence]

yeah. it took me a long time to make my quiver that awesome. i really put a lot of thought into it. my favorite setup is the carbon evo. flip the deck upside down and it becomes a great long distance pumper/campus cruiser.
