There are different kinds of rake. Traditional randal rake like in the diagram posted on the last page is where the pivot and bushing seat are inline, but the axle is offset from that. There is also paris-style rake, where the pivot and axle are inline, but the bushing seat is offset from that line. Shrooms have the latter.

It's the same with tkps and the whole "bent pivot vs. straight pivot" thing. Indys and trippins have the pivot and axle inline with the bushing seat offset. Trackers and indeesz have the pivot and bushing seat inline and the axle offset from. Bennetts have neither the axle or bushing seat inline with the pivot.

Took the shrooms out today. The 9*f and dry salty roads may be the culprit of my rainskates being grippy but i did break 40mph today according to gps.

Shrooms are with 89a barrels at 50/30 splits. Feels pretty surfy

The Lucys adjustable baseplates are the bees' knees in my opinion. I've currently got them kicked up to 50º for freeriding, but at 40º (or split) they are sweet for downhill. I plan on bringing them to Maryhill in June, probably on the Lambchop.

    So as I've gathered for RKPs it goes like;
Rake: placement of the axle in front, on or behind the pivot axis... measured in mm.
Alignment: placement of the axle with relation to the point where the kingpin meets the pivot-axis.

    Name: no rake inline.png

This illustrates no rake, and an inline axle. Ex. Cindrich?

positive alignment, no rake. Ex. Caliber, Gunmetal, PNLs, Charger IIs...

Positive alignment and rake Ex. Paris, Randal, all the china trucks.

Negative rake, inline axles. Ex. Maguns

I agree with all this except that the + and - symbols of rake are reversed.

If you make a 45 deg truck from a 50 deg truck by raking, You've added rake. Positive rake.

The "flatter" the hangers lie, the more positive rake you've added (assuming the baseplate didn't change angles.)

Yo dont change angle with rake. And his +/- signs are accurate.

Putting the axle above the pivot axis is positive rake (Randall, aeras) , below is negative (flipped randals) , and inline is no rake (caliber, PNL's).

The hanger angle certainly changes, if you change the rake but not the baseplate angle.

Also the word "above", as I take it, means farther from the road. If you mean "above" in relation to the upside-down drawings above, then I don't agree re the +/-.

Yep, POC is correct. (Cortex Flow model) First time using their equipment, but seems really well designed and build. Just ordered the Timeship Racing blank visor from Daddies. I'll let you know how it works out! Nice to be able to rep Don't Trip on the lid; thanks for the decals, Dan!

For me.....trippins are not as twitchy and much more stable at speed. They do turn less though. Dialing in trippins is more about getting good turn than restricting wild behavior (how I feel about indeesz). In saying that it's easier to dial in trippins. Fatcone BS, barrel RS is my favorite.

regardless of where the bushing seat or axle is placed, the hanger will ALWAYS rotate around the angle of the baseplate. Adding rake / flavored bushing seats just varies the way the axle moves throughout the rotation. Rake NEVER changes the pivot angle, only the behavior of the axle.

This is why measuring rake with degrees is a misnomer. A flipped paris hanger on 43* (~40* if we say rake can be measured with angles) plates feels nothing like a rakeless truck on 40* plates for instance. It does however feel like a negatively raked truck on a 43* plate.
