Possibly that he owns his own shop, or he's trying to help skaters. Who cares why.....it's pretty cool!

There were Don't Trip trucks all over at the Maryhill Spring Free4All this weekend! I was running tall Shrooms, tall Mollys, and a Euphoria/Molly combo, all on Riptide bushings. The Shrooms are definitely the grippiest, and most confidence inspiring for railing corners. I ended up running the tall Mollys (58/30) when things got really fast. SO much lean and so stable. I loved the split rake Euph/Molly combo, but I was running regular bushings roadside, which just don't feel as good as talls to me. But the 6º rake of the Euphoria up front made the setup super nimble and darty, while staying stable. I also saw some skaters killing it on Cybins and Poppies. Dan, you've definitely got a stoke factory going!!! Thanks for everything.

I don't think a simple explanation would be so much to ask. His current trucks up to this point obviously all kill it, that much we all know. Those trucks are also made in the same shop which dan owns, but cost more. I was just curious what the changes were that made it possible to drop the price 50-100$. I wasn't discounting the trucks, or the sentiment behind making high quality trucks more accesible to skaters that aren't necessarily rich, I was just curious about the specific differences. Obviously the lack of an adjustable base reduces cost. So does less machine time by not having cutouts like mollys and euphorias for example. So does the lack of spherical(s). I just earnestly wondered if there was anything else different, such as a different material.

I agree it's cool, just like everything else that's come out of DT has been cool. But if all you planned to do was dismissively brush off an honest question just for the sake of being contrary, why even bother posting?

My bad, I thought you could handle it. Just my opinion, but before anyone starts waving the "You're being a dick in the lovely skate community" finger; lets make sure one is not being a tiny bit hyper-sensi, unnecessarily....Just my opinion, and is why I post.

Also, my Shroom tailside, is sweet when cornering.....Name: 18301192_10213271595613115_3094835464007460633_n.jpg

Weren't you posting in the other thread that was pondering why the Fish isn't booming?

And wasn't one of the concensus answers that people are being total dicks in response to perfectly reasonable questions?
Like, to a question not even necessarily directed at you? And then being an even bigger dick when the guy clarifies his perfectly reasonable question?

    Just sayin...

I'm late to the show here...but, how do any of these hold up to wedging for LDP? Right now, I'm rocking a Bennett 6.0 on a Sk8kings Max and what I'm running into is that the kingpin is SUPER low, so I'm looking for as much ground clearance as possible between the kingpin or hanger and the ground.

DT Bhangers have same Geometry as Bennetts so same KP issue. DT Poppys are Reverse KP Trucks and you will not have the KP issues

@bucksaw87/DTS- What about using an inverted kp, any out there long enough? It's possible...

@mesc- I can admit I did probably come across more sensi than I actually was, and went on a bit of an impulsive rant.
No real butt-hurt to report here, but my point remaings the same, I asked an honest and basic question, and the response of sarcasm with no real valid info just struck me as a bit jerkoff-y and useless. All good though, I can handle it haha, at least I wasn't told to kill myself or insert something sharp and unlubricated into my rectum...

It's doable...I've inverted kingpins before. Problem is, nobody around here sells 2.75" bolts in the appropriate diameter and thread count. I'm also fairly open to the idea of new trucks

I can't believe that you played the "can't get 'em around here" card.... on the internet. Geez, you are getting old.

You really should get some Don't Trips. Their great to ride and they're straight up shiny machined pr0n.... to be fully appreciated over a beer after the ride.

If you can deal with their outrageous small order shipping costs you should check out one of the grind king pins from Surf Rodz. Here is a link to it: https://www.surf-rodz.com/products/t.../king-pins-275 That's for a 2.75" grind kp. The top is flat with an allen wrench hole recessed in for adjustment. They work quite well.
