Thats what ended up happening to my apex, turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I talked to original about it for a while, then once I provided the strange obscure things they asked for, they ignored me... Ended up clamping it and gluing it, and im trying to sell it now. This is a picture of it trying to show it in better condition than it is, its split right about halfway down the other side.

Cool Re: Original Skateboards Discussion Thread

The following is evidence supporting the durability of original boards:
I have owned an apex 37 for almost two years, rode it every day of the boarding season to and from work (3 miles hills and flats, crappy Maine pavement) smashed the f**k out of it, had it run over twice (one of these time it bent a paris 180 truck to hell) it looks like I bought it a month ago and I've ridden it in rain, snow, and on salty, broken, slushy pavement ad well as through all kinds of grass and dirt. I recently sold it for $150 and bought the new apex 40 which is everything I could ever want in a board.
That being said, I will also say that I have had an Arbor Axis Koa for 4 years (it's pretty beat up but zero delamination).
Original boards are amazing, but they are only worth the money if the board you want has no cheaper alternatives on the market. The only board that can even compete with the Apex 40 AvRockerConcave I recently acquired is my friend's Loaded Bhangra (which actually runs more expensive than the new Apex).
Do your research, test ride boards, and make sure there are no alternatives that have the same bang for less buck. If not, original boards will be worth the money (if it breaks they will replace it even after the warranty is up in some cases as they mass produce boards and the process is not perfect which they understand). They are not evil, they want to spread their style of boarding to the world and make bank in the process, there's nothing wrong with that. They have great customer service, and you will NOT be disappointed if you actually blow all your money on an original. Just as you wouldn't be disappointed buying a pair of precision trucks (worth the money if they give you the result you're looking for or if you don't want to die racing).
End of rant, STAY CLASSY AND GO LONGBOARD BEFORE WHITE BULLSH** COVERS THE ROADS OF THE NORTH!!!!

Can anyone comment on the topmount?
How's the concave? Is the rocker... actually there? Sounds too good to be true for $100.

Lemme just revive an old thread and ask, how good are these boards for only cruising and pushing (NO downhill, dancing, freestyle of any sort)?

"These Boards" is pretty general, but really any board will be fine for cruising.

Which pintail, specifically, are you leaning towards...?

The issue with original trucks is the maintenance and lack of adjustability.

They are just fine for cruising around, but there is also plenty of choices at a better price that you can go pick up at a local store.

Which better choices are there for cruising that I can buy at a local store (give examples)?

I prefer drop throughs instead of pintails! @humbl
