This thread died 4 years ago, but I survived.

In celebration of that, I decided to bump this up, in the hopes that perhaps it will help someone else find the will to put on the helmet.

All my symptoms went away quickly and the soft tissue has healed, but it took a long time for all the swelling to go.

When the swelling finally vanished, I found that my skull had a new and permanent lump. It is still there on my head, and it will always be.

So just a helmet reminder to us all: don't leave home without it.

Ulu, you have no idea how inspiring it is to read about your grandkids going skating with you. Glad you survived relatively intact! Head injuries are no joke.
yes, an uber-grippy, square-lipped slalom wheel IS the best for sliding

The oral surgeon has put 3 titanium dental implants in my head, and each time he has remarked on the density of my skull.

Evidently my mom was not kidding when she called me a hard headed Irish mick.

Seriously, when I first started hanging around here, and reading all the skating with the grandkids always was very inspiring!

What pleases me most is to see that my daughters are still interested in skating,

Kelly has inline skates, and Tracy is riding the longboard. Neither one is really serious about it yet but they're starting to understand about the importance of fitness.

Anyhow thank you, and as a heads up, I'll be posting another thread as I build the Christmas boards for the two youngest granddaughter's.

Well Photobucket has gone belly-up for me and all my pictures are gone.

I'll see if I can patch this up later.
