Is that the only thing you noticed?

Not a Zephyr and nothing to do with Tony Alva. Not even 70's wheels or trucks.

Just wrong in so many ways!

That's why I put quotes around the description when I linked it. I wanted to see who else noticed that it wasn't anything described..

I think the person posting it is clueless, probably pranked by someone else. I didn't get the impression they are intentionally misrepresenting it.. TOO over the top LOL!

On the other hand, about a month ago I saw someone post an Alva Re issue with an older looking Sims sticker on it. The posting said something like this.. "Found this Alva skateboard in the attic of a house we just bought. I know nothing about it.

Fools fell for the ruse and it eventually went for over $400. It had no wheels, new school bolt pattern, and Y2K era trucks.

That's not in the least bit legit. Rodney was discovered by Powell/Peralta, who gave him his first pro model. Looks like someone painted the letters on.

Today I post my own Fake of the Day. Almost put this in the re-issue thread but not even worthy of re issue status. Fakest Jimmy Plummer Z-Flex had the gall to issue. Makes a neat mini cruiser with Venture wheels and purple Penny 78as.

Deck was $20 delivered and seems well made for a cheap mASS produced tribute.. Tribute works better than re issue or replica in this case..

For me one of the funnier ones I've seen weather it was fake or not was a Powell Per Wellinder Nordic Sperm deck from Portugal for $450 on eBay. Seems at least a little delusional to me.

I thought this looked a little fishy until I saw the Almost logo on it:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rodney-mulle...gAAOSwK6RZH1f9

$35 for a Cease and Desist Mullen still in the plastic seems a little too good to be true.

Posted in the "Vintage" section. I think they have the model name confused with the year of production? But... Kept in their shop as a display? Think they are trying to pull something over..

Fresh offa the shelves at your local Target store...Those Kryptonics logos are the newish ones from the past 5 or so years. He's not wrong; Target, Walmart, et. al. are smoke-free, and it was on display.

Excuse me Mr. Lama but it is clearly stamped "1965" right there on the baseplate.

Model number, definitely not year made. Either way, it's a POS.

What do you expect from a brand that is now owned by the same company that brings you Penny skateboards? Garbage begets garbage.

^^^Rolls straight and rides smooth. Feels much better than the typical $15.00 deck. Having older Venture trucks on it helps..

It's just fine for an inexpensive board. Just a sad ending for a once great company. At least its not plastic!

I bought my 7 year old one of those at Wal-Mart. What's POS! The trucks and wheels dependent enough, but the deck is made out of so mm e composite material. Chips and flakes easily.
